Long length CD-Rs, do they exist?

I recently picked up a series of lectures on the history of Egypt that I absolutely love. Unfortunately, there are four of them at six hours long each, which leaves me relatively little space on my ancient iPod for my music, so I thought I'd burn them to CD to just keep in my car when I wanted them. However, I'm finding that most CD-Rs are only 80 minutes long, well below the six hours I need. Do longer CD-Rs exist, and where would I find them if they do?

There are some CD's with 90 minute length, but they are rare, and require a special CD-burner just to be able to write them. (I've never encountered a player boasting the capability of writing to such discs).

However, to achieve your desired 6 hours length on one single disc is impossible, I'm afraid. I suppose you could do some weird trick with DVD's, as they are capable of storing much more data. It would also mean they can't be played off by any conventional CD-player (or perhaps even DVD-player for that matter, you might need another computer to play them).

My best suggestion - regrettably also the most expensive one - is to get a new MP3-player of some kind. Alternatively, a cheap MP3-player that you can use separately from your iPod, if you want to tangle with more than one device.

not that i should bother posting this since noone would care but old school cds and dvds were capable of burning slightly more onto a disk using software supporting "overburn".
it was hit and miss if it would corrupt the disk and it worked better with some brands than others but there was often a portion of the disk beyond capacity you could write too.

on topic.
god's sake man get with the times!
you should be able to get yourself a new ipod/iphone (android is better!!!) for fairly cheap and hook that up to your stereo, if you get yourself a dvd player that would hold a metric ass ton (scientific term) of audio in mp3 format or get a new deck with usb capability.
