Mass Effect 2, i think. i passed 30 hours on my first playthough, and still found quite a bit of missed things on my second playthrough.

If you count everything outside the campaign maybe something like Disgaea?

And just by the length of the campaign Persona series.

i think the side quests in oblivion should count, at least the guild ones. they were more than your average side quests, bethesda works hard on their elder scrolls

Oblivion, maybe? That was really long, although I am not quite sure about how long it is without sidequests.
Oh no, Oblivion's campaign is actually just copypasta for a few hours. Morrowind's has proper variety.

For a game I've completed the whole way through? No clue off the top of my head, but Morrowind could actually be well up there. An Untitled Story was longish... hm, I don't play many long SP games.

Final Fantasy X is pretty damn long
especially if you do all the sidequests
you basically have to traverse an entire planet on foot which takes days of gameplay time, then there's a twatload of dark aeons and PENANCE! but even once you beat the main boss (sin) the recurring side boss (seymour) is inside him, then there's yet another boss (Yu Yevon) which pits all your aeons against you which could be a string of 9 battles or so, then you fight Jecht and it's just a neverending expanding spiral of endless bosses
the game helpfully tells you how long you've been playing underneath the save
my longest record is 136 hours
i know, even for an escapist member that's still a bit long to spend on a game
Yeah, but you could beat the game (see the end credits) in about 35 hours if you just get on with it.

I've spent waaaaaaaaay too long on FFX though, beat it 5 times and as good as 100%ed the game once, all the celestial weps, complete sphere grid on all characters and beat every hidden/optional/stupidly powerful beast in the game.

Any of the thousand myst games, because there are no "real" sidequests and it can take...AGES.

FF9 took about 50 hours to complete and that was ignoring all the sidequests (though I don't think there were that many. Also, I've probably played a good 70 hours on about 4 different Pokemon games, basically any single player game that requires you to grind yourself retarded is bound to consume a lot of your time.

To me it's Tales of Symphonia. I thought it would be a short game due to the initial plot at the start, how wrong I was. Last time I had check (I never finish it) I was over 80 hours and I was no where near to completing it.

Technically, I think that would have to be one of the FIFA games I have, because the single-player "campaign" there is to basically just play games indefinitely.
I think it does actually finish after around 11 seasons.

I'd probably say Oblivion or the Roma Surrectum mod for Rome: Total War, as that games map is absolutely huge.

The Baldurs Gate Trilogy
(Thats a mod that combines BG1 and BG2 + expansions to one epic game
using BG2s engine)
Unless you ultra speed run that it will take a while.
Im currently on my 2nd run btw. and Im still in BG1 with too many hours to count.
Trilogy? What?

Are you calling Throne of Bhaal a full game? That's pretty much just flat out wrong.
But anyway.

Never mind, it's the name of the mod.

I am not a fan of modifying BG, if feels dirty. Like if someone said "Hey let's take your childhood memories, and make them better!" You can't make them better.

Anyway. I spent more time in BG than any other game. The longest game would be a FF title I'm guessing.

I will just go right ahead and point out that my mate who pretty much lives off of Halo and thinks that TeS games are quaint for having swords rather than guns beat Oblivion in less than 8 hours. The main story in that game is really, really, really, short compared to what most people think it is.

Well, Planescape: Torment was a pretty long game, and one that I enjoyed thoroughly.
And of course GTA: San Andreas. That game took some time to complete. Awesome game no less.
And of course the TES series and the Fallouts. But those don't count, because the length is mostly 'cuz of sidequests.

Dead Rising 1 & 2 if you just play through once both solo campaigns in total last: 144hours :)
and Dead Rising 2 has co-op campaign, i think ive only played about 50hours of the 1st game as i accidentally deleted my save and haven't played it since

dead rising 2 on the other hand, i played through once for the story, once with a friend (and paid more attention and understood the story better) a 2nd time with the same friend to just stuff around and find various items hidden around the place

so total campaign time ive spent: 360+hours :)

not sure if replaying the same story counts but Hey :p

and not sure if this counts: Mount & Blade (and/or with expansions)
the first game is Singeplayer only and its unscripted so you make your own story as you travel, fight, make friends/allies/enemies,raid,do good deeds or bad ect. i have no idea how many hours ive logged on mount & blade but its atleast double what i logged on dead rising :D

Probably Persona 3 I've put 90 hours a piece into both FES and Portable, though near the end it was mostly grind to get the high level personas.

ALso DQ* at about 70 hours, again grind is a large factor in this.

I con understand your point, but all the Trilogy mod does
is combine the 2(3) games into one epic experience on the level
of the BG2 graphics and rules ect...
I love the mod.

The most recent superlong games would be Dragon Age and Oblivion, probably, both have well over 50 hours of game in them.

Sins of a Solar Empire is also pretty goddamned long, as any given individual scenario can take half a fucking day.
