Longest time spent playing a single game?

In a single sitting? 7 hours straight of FFXI .... thats when MMOs sared me and I never went back ...

I wasn't even having that much fun, an hour travelling someplace, an hour of chatting to friends on the LS, then when finally managed to fineagle a party, another hour testing the biggest thing we could take down, then another hour decididng what missions to do because we meshed well as a group and we wanted to do something else.

All in all .. the timesink-edness scared me.

20 on starcraft 2 but i was at a lan party and we took mini breaks while games were loading. longast toal is probably either dragon age or starcraft brood war. im not sure because i beat DA around 4 times and am working on number 5 but i played scbw alot with my brother in high school, my roomates/ frends at college, and back home with my other frends at lan parties

70 hours playing Dissidia, only stopping to let the battery on my PSP charge.

Then there was the many hours I spent on Final Fantasy VIII, mainly because I didn't have a memory card and had to keep it going if I wanted my progress to matter.

I don't think Brawl was turned off for about 14 hours when I first got it. It's a shame it seems so crap now... Well, probably because I played it too much.

Going to boast about my 810 hours on Team Fortress 2 even though it has minimal relevance to the thread.

Fallout 3 when my PC died (360 version) was....6AM-2PM and then 10PM-2AM

World of Warcraft 07-10 with...often 12+ hours a day (way back when)

25+ hours for one sitting of Mass Effect 2 doing all the side quests and DLC. I felt really accomplished afterward but also a little lame =).

Well if it's all in one sitting then it would probably be beating MGS2 on whatever the hardest difficulty was.

If it was of all time then it would have to be between Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory/Double Agent or Oblivion.

Probably somewhat followed by X-Com, Master of Orion, Master of Magic, Gran Turismo 1,2,3,

And most in one sitting, at least 12. City of Heroes again. Took breaks for eating, bathrooming, etc.

I hate to admit it but probably world of Warcraft.
I've always been pretty casual with my game time. I don't forego social interaction ofr raiding or any of that nonsense.

But the day Wrath of the Lich King came out my Girlfriend and I grabbed out copies at midnight and didn't stop playing for a good 13 hours.

For a brief pathetic moment I was "that guy".

Total? Cripes, I don't know. Probably Team Fortress 2, 400+ hours over the past two years. It could also be Warcraft III or Age of Empires III, though--I've had both of them for a lot longer and played them a fair amount.

In one sitting, either Prototype or Just Cause 2. The day I got both of them, I'd say at least eight hours went in. That's usually how it is when I get a new game--the better part of the first day is spent playing it.

Well it depends on whether "single sitting" includes going to make food and bathroom breaks. But if we're talking, uninterrupted game-play (ie without toilet or food) about 4 hours...if we're talking allowances for using the laboratory and feeding oneself its 26 hours (or thereabouts) playing Fallout 3. I'm sure when I first got Final Fantasy 7 I played similar long periods...and actually Galactic Civ (1+2) probably rack up near there...

Longest time on a single game was probably Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Once I found out you could use the super bike jump code, peddle a bike down a hill, launch yourself at a building, pull the bike forwards and jump off the building once you hit it, and bounce off of it, the sky was the limit. I played it for a good 14 hours straight that day, while messing around with other things such as flying a jet under various arches. I would say total time playing a game would have to go towards Doom 2, with all the mods I'm sure I've put in at least 2,000 hours.

oh in that case 27 hours on TF2... all on the same server and as a sniper...

OT: I dunno I've played many many games for more or less around 12 hours in a sitting at weekends only leaving the console or pc to make food so the list would be a bit too long.

Overall however, would probably be Guild Wars which is now at 1,391 hours 24mins over the past 50months. So that is an average of 27.828 hours a month and roughly 0.9276 hours a day spent over the past two years on Guild Wars.

I completed MGS3 straight up though. 18 hours, start to finish (including much pissing about in the jungle!)

Mass Effect 2, and Pokemon SoulSilver. Both around the 130 hour mark.

In a single stint? Full 24 hours, Red Dead Redemption.
