So, instead of making a new thread to ***** about Anime, lets skip the dance altogether.

And now for something completely different.

The Canadian soldiers are supposed to end their combat mission in Afghanistan in 2011, except that a number are staying behind to train the Afghans how to fight properly in a non combat role.

I am no member of the army, so I want to ask any of you who are part of the Canadian Forces: what is your opinion on Canadians staying on past the end of the mission as part of a training operation?

As a US citizen, I say the Canadians can do whatever the hell they please. So long as they don't stop the maple syrup from flowing in.

It matters to me. Our country was dead set on ending our Afghan mission in 2011. Only for it to turn around and suddenly our troops are there until 2014 in a "non combat mission", which is absolute bullshit.

All it is gonna do is make the Taliban target the training groups leading to still more deaths that don't need to happen. Yeah, we won't be in a combat mission, but the soldiers will still be in an active warzone getting shot at. That bothers me a lot.
