Recently i've missed playing futuristic-sci-fi FPSs. Generally looking for something on the PC, Free to play or pay once, either work, just no subscription based ones. Any suggestions?

Edit: I am looking for a game based on multiplayer for the most part. I've gone through halo, half life, and mass effect. Which are the only ones I can think of.

Boy you're in luck! There's um. A few of those.
Actually not to many on PC. Huh.

If you want something cinematic, I'd go for ME or ME2.
Half-Life 2 of course.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. + Complete Mod

Those are the ones I can think of.

I was about to say Dead Space, but then remembered it's not an FPS.

I suppose there's always Doom 3? I'll admit, I don't think there are many futuristic FPS's for PC. Weird.

You could always get Shattered Horizon. It looks like a goddamn picture and is really fun too.

Can you get the Halo games on PC? They might be worth a look.

Shadowrun was, iirc, futuristic. Might have been rubbish tho, I'm not a fan of FPS games.

If you're looking for multiplayer, there's always Battlefield 2142. It's not new, but it's still good.

I played halo one on my PC, it was nice, but i'm still trying to find something new.

And really? Theres a shortage of Fps games on the pc? What has the world come to?

If you want multiplayer, go with what Kiefer13 said. Battlefield 2142.
Its a pretty good game.

Also I suggest Team Fortress 2, Half Life 2, Portal, Fallout 3, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Crysis.

Well, you can try looking for TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect if you get them. The humour is great. And it has monkeys with guns.
This to. Everyone should play Timesplitter. Everyone.

There is no shortage of FPS games on the pc, there is a shortage of futuristic FPS games on the pc, they all got this try hard realism shit going on atm.

I would honestly recommend the Half-Life series...that's in case u haven't play it allready. If u did...then Doom 3 springs to mind. After this try Fallout or ME :-??...Have fun!

Battlefield 2142 is definitely the best futuristic multiplayer FPS once you're no longer considering Halo. Timesplitters has brilliant multiplayer, but it's only a console game. Fallout 3 is definitely a game with good futuristic weapons, but it's only single-player.

You could try Global Agenda. It's pretty much Team Fortress 2, but with a Sci-fi theme to it.
Plus, jetpacks.

Try the latest Unreal Tournament, or Serious Sam HD. They are both good, kind of futuristic, and pretty far away from the "realism"...
