Looking for a game controller (PC)

I used to have this very cool gaming device for my computer car racing game, it looked like a RC controller, used the pc's game port, had a trigger for throttle/breaking, and a large knob for steering plus 2 buttons, unfortunately its long gone. I couldnt use it now anyway ,it used an analog joystick port.

does anyone know of a USB device for pc that is similar?

I cannot recommend this controller highly enough. You'll need to purchase the USB cable yourself (see: Frequently Bought Together section)

Well, considering theres a lot of shitty console ports for games out there, i just went ahead and bought an x-box 360 wireless for my comp. Works real well with a lot of sports games.

im using a mad catz xbox 360 controller and its good, but it doesnt have the fine control for a car racing game

I couldn't find an RC pad like you wanted, the closest I found was sites on how to convert old rc controllers to usb for pc use:
