Hi all, I've been cruising around the forums for a solution to my problem, but most of the posts I've found don't apply to me as criteria is too narrow.

Anyway, I'm looking for the best desktop gaming rig for under £1000 although £800 is ideal. I'm NOT looking for a laptop (I'm guessing that most of you are sighing with relief right now) as It's not going to be exclusively used/ owned by me.
Not sure whether it makes any difference, but I plan on using it for EVERYTHING pc related especially essays/ revision; but I don't download much so I doubt that I need a huge amount of space, 500GB + would be ideal.

Oh yes! One more thing, I'm open to build my own if it works out cheaper/ better. However I am a little reluctant since I have no experience in building computers.

Thanks.

I would suggest building it yourself. A system with an X4 955 and HD 6950 will be fine for gaming and run you around or below £500.

Building a PC is a lot simpler than it seems; there are plenty of guides on the internet, and if all else fails, you can take your parts to a computer shop and have them assemble it for you.

Also... Avengers?

Thanks mate, I'll give that a go.

...and correct! I would have also accepted Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgundy
