Title says most of it. Blade of Darkness was excellent in that regard but I can no longer play it due to some graphic card bug. Demon's Souls looks just as excellent but I don't own a PS3 to begin with so I only know of it from video LPs. Not looking that much for stuff like Diablo 2/Torchlight but I can take recommendations for that too..Any suggestions?

You could give Dark Messiah of Might and Magic a shot.
It wasn't really "gloomy" but it wasn't perky and happy colourful either.

Though it's not really... traditional, do the point where I wouldn't really call it a dungeon crawler (despite the crawling through dungeons). Maybe try the demo out if you haven't played the game already.

Metro 2033 for sure, even though one wouldn't think of it.

Yes, the dungeons are post-apocalyptic metro tunnels, abandoned buildings and the ruins of Moscow, but it's gloomy as hell, incredibly atmospheric and downright scary at times. It's not very expensive to boot, and I found that it doesn't require the mega PC I thought it would need (but that's for DX9 graphics, still on High by the way so the game is still gorgeous).

It fits the bill to a tee, even though it isn't fantasy with swords and magic.

I thought dark messiah was really cool actually, I'd recommend it.

Err, Morrowind if you don't mind old stuff.

Stalker if you don't mind it not being fantasy.

Yeah I quite liked it as well. I just don't really know what the OP is looking for in a game.

If you into dungeon crawling and have Steam Why not try this relatively unknown game called Arx Fatalis. Its has a brilliant crafting system, is atmospheric as hell and the whole game is like one big dungeon.

Hexen is also a great game which infuses dungeon crawling with a doom like style. It can also be picked up on steam for next to nothing.

I also recommend picking up dark messiah of might and magic because it's quite good.

Yeah Arx Fatalis is probably a good choice. As well as Steam it is available from Good Old Games.

I agree with this. And if you like that, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, although those aren't completely dungeon crawlery the underground labs are as scary as hell.
