Alright guys, I am starting my shopping for a new desktop computer. I am not looking to have this as a primary gaming machine, but it shouldn't give under said pressure. However, price is a major factor. I don't want to be paying an arm and a leg for this guy for generic e-mail and Turbo Tax and then an online FPS when I feel like it.

I was looking at the new eMachine (eMachines ET1831-07) and feel that would be acceptable.
Ideas?

Only buy a prebuilt machine if you need a computer this very instant.

Online shopping, smaller computer parts stores and computer fairs can all help you build a machine superior to anything you can buy in a store for a fraction of the price.

Build it yourself, Not only will you have the satisfaction of building it you'll save yourself £££'s in the process.

And you also get the free game of "Why isn't my PC working.." to play as well which is the greatest game of all time.

P.S. I'm not joking about the game it's not sarcasm I reallllly love it. I play it on all my mates PC's when they try and upgrade them their selves hehe

In the long run a custom built PC will be more reliable if assembled and installed properly. However you can get some dirt cheap prebuilts that will be more than adequate for your use(even gaming) especially with the addition of a decent graphics card and the removal of all the preinstalled crapware.

That was fairly unanimous and quick.
So I guess a Dell Inpiron Zino could be purchased with the money saved for permanent music to the sound system.
