Looking for a new FPS

although it's been said i'd also suggest battlefield:BC it's a very interesting game, though i am slightly stuck on one part of it. but oh well. still worth looking into and you can get it pretty cheap now.

I'd recommend L4D, CoD 4 or STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. If you are good at FPSs add the Oblivion Lost mod to Stalker.

Hmm I did like Metal of Honor on the gamecube...

Halo 3 is alright and GoW2 is pretty fun third person shooter.

Well I really like BF;BC so I say go for that one I got it for 20 bucks at a local store

Pick up Glitch [http://www.glitchgame.com/]. That's a pretty cool freeware FPS for the PC.

It might not have much story, and I don't know about any multiplayer, but it's a hell of a lot of fun.

When I first played it, I was like "...wha?" but I just couldn't stop playing. It's far too addicitive to be healthy, but at least it shows graphics don't make a game awesome, gameplay does.

I'll go ahead and recommend a game that wasn't really that good but I still liked the campaign and the game is, what, 2 dollars now? I got it in a 4 game pack that was 5 dollars so meh.

What do you mean by "currently being hacked"? I know they're preparing for QuakeCon but it only starts in 3 days and the last huge update was 3 days ago. And it's definitely not a game that you will finish "in a few hours" as per OP.

But you are correct, it doesn't include a single-player campaign.

Yeah, give Halo 3 a try. I never played any of the others extensively, so I won't suggest them, but I bet they're nice picks as well.

Go ahead and arrange a Halo LAN while you're at it! Playing Halo 3 over a LAN is sweet! It'll make for some memorable times in gaming.

halo: CE and halo 2 are like the only games you don't need to DL loads of crap to play on a 360 aren't they? i'd say they were worht it for that...
