Recently, due to a stroke of bad luck, my mother has quite WoW. She is looking for a new game to play and was wondering what she should get.

Games she has really liked include:
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Heroes of Might and Magic (all of them)
World of Warcraft

Any help would be wonderful.

Guild Wars is pretty good, and guild wars 2 is coming out. Also, there's no subscription fee, you just buy the game.

There's also a ton of new F2P games on steam right now so you might want to check that out.

Dragon Age: Origins, perhaps?

Maybe even DA2, if the DA1's combat is not to her liking.

I second this, Dragon Age is probably the most fun i've had with a fantasy RPG since Oblivion.

Get the first one if you want a standard 'save the world' tale with Tolkein-esque races and locations and tactical combat

Get the second if you want a more personal story and more button mashey, frantic combat anc more angular, city like locations.
