Looking for a somewhat specific RPG recommendation

Alright so I've been playing Shin Megami Tensei games a fair bit recently, and one thing that really appeals to me about them is the combination of the big clashes between good and evil and demons and all sorts of supernatural with the fact that you are in a modern urban setting and that many characters are fairly typical people who happen to be involved in these great cosmic conflicts. I like seeing the contrast as elements of fantasy that are usually depicted in ancient or medieval times are brought into the modern world. I don't know if this sort of genre has a name, but I'd call it contemporary urban fantasy or something.

Anyway, aside from SMT games, the only other games I could think of off the top of my head that aligned with this sort of setting were The World Ends With You and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. Does anyone know any other RPGs that fall into this category? Just to clarify, I'd like to see fantasy and mythology as opposed to sci-fi as well as a fairly modern or slightly futuristic setting. I'd appreciate any game anyone could point me to from any era.

What you are reffering to is called Urban Fantasy [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/UrbanFantasy] and is one of my favourite settings (as evidenced by my choice of avatars). However, the bad news is that there's a disappointingly small number of games in the setting. As in hardly any. The best I can think of is Vampire: Redemption, though it might not be quite what you're looking for.

Also, if you don't mind MMOs, look up Secret World.

May not be exactly what you were looking for, but maybe Shadow Hearts. The small amount i played of that was like, 19th centuary mixed with ancient demons and stuff.

I was going to suggest Shadow Hearts Covenant (havent played the first one) although I believe they are in the same world (think covenant is just a continuation of the story started in Shadow Hearts) I am also not entirely sure if it is classed as Urban Fantasy but may be worth a look as its a surprisingly good game anyway (quite amusing as well).

Other than that and the Persona series (which I assume you already know about as its shin megami tensei) there is possibly the Disgaea series but I think that is getting a bit far from what you are after even if it is set in the modern world technically.
