Hello there Advice Forum! I'm looking for an AK-47 with wooden stock to go with my AK-47 bayonet I've purchased recently. Now, being a Canadian, it won't be easy to get it in Canada (even with lead in the barrel) so I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find one to order in. It isn't a purchase I'm about to make now but knowing where to go would be great so that when I'm ready to get an epic wall ornament, I'll be able to get it :D

It would be awesome having an assault rifle with bayonet attached hanging off of a wall in my room XD

Thanks to anyone who responds.

I'm not sure if this is the answer you're going to want to hear, but if I understand this Wikipedia page correctly, the AK-47 is illegal in Canada after January 1st, 1995. Wikipedia actually has an entire page on the legal status of the AK-47 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_status_of_the_AK-47#In_Canada], astonishingly. There are tons of derivatives of the AK-47 design, but whether your bayonet will fit or not I have no idea. You may like to take a look at this [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_weapons_influenced_by_the_Kalashnikov_design] page on Wikipedia, listing some of the AK-47 variants in the world.

....Redlin, I've known you on the Pub Club forums for a while, and from that experience I hate to think what would happen if you acquired an AK-47...

I kid I kid XD

Hmm, I wonder if this applies to completely useless AK-47's. I was hoping to find one with lead down the barrel so, you know, it would be impossible to kill people with.

Kalash don't make AK-47's with an attachable bayonet. Your after the Chinese 56. Its exactly the same as the AK-47 just with a bayonet attachment.
Also bayonets are pointless, CQC rifles can be modified to have a serrated barrell end, acting a bayonet. Also why do you need an assult rifle? And good luck getting one fullyautomatic... legally, I suggest the Irish/American Mafia. Have you ever fired an AK-47, they are horrible weapons. If your after a 7.62mm rifle, don't buy a AK-47... its a wall ornament... oh... well they do look nice.

If you're looking for a working firearm, I would suggest you settle for either a VZ58 or an SKS, since I'm pretty sure that all AK variants are banned by name in Canada. Both fire the 7.62x39mm cartridge (same as the AK47), are known for their reliability, and easily available in Canada (an original Russian SKS costs around $250, about half of what they go for in the US because of import restrictions).

If you're just looking for a wall-hanger, I'm sure you could find a company selling replica firearms (for example http://www.deactivated-guns.co.uk/ ). The best thing to get would be an actual rifle which has been deactivated, since they still have most of their internal parts so you can play around with the action.

Well a real authentic Russian AK-47 is very rare. As you have no intention of using it, you might actually get an airsoft one. Let me explain, there is this airsoft brand called Real Sword which produces their rifles in the very same factory as the 'real' type 56 rifles are made. With other words it's a 1:1 scale with the same materials used as in the real ones. Only the inside is different, you can avoid a lot of buerocratic bullshit by buying one of those.

While that looks awesome (I'm an airsoft guy myself) I don't think that's what I'll end up going for. I want to get it as authentic as possible so considering...

...what I found through the link TMAN sent me, I'm looking at this baby. [http://www.deactivated-guns.co.uk/deactivated-guns/modern-deactivated-guns/deactivated-ak47-with-folding-stock-and-extras/prod_1245.html]

Not the wooden stock but I wasn't a fan of the forward pistol grip model that was also offered. Pretty badass and if I set money aside I could afford $494.06 plus shipping and handling someday. Provided I can get it into the country.
