City of Heroes, which I play, is adopting a Free-2-Play/subscription hybrid system soon.

So is Star Trek Online.

Champions Online has also gone Free-2-play with Optional Subscriptions.

Forgot to add Champions Online and City of Heroes. Add DC Universe too. Aint played D&D yet, but I heard that the gameplays kinda limited cause you gotta pay for more content or something?

Check out Rusty Hearts. It went into open beta very recently and is pretty good. Here's the homepage. http://rustyhearts.perfectworld.com/

I tried Mabinogi (I think that's how it's spelled) but couldn't get into it. The only MMO I've ever really liked was Adventure Quest Worlds (Haven't played it in a long while though) for the simplicity and charm of it. I might try a couple soon since I figure it might force me to socialize on the internet. I'll probably start when DC Universe Online goes free to play, I love me some DC Universe. I'm kind of interested in Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine as well, since I'm always curious about the series...

Try Puzzle Pirates if your looking for something a bit different. Its on steam and its a great example of free to play, as you can play for free and it doesn't punish you. Plus the gameplay is great example of skill and teamwork.

Despite what many people say Runescape can be pretty fun. I suggest getting a couple of friends because MMO's are always more fun with friends.

I'm waiting for World of Battleships and World of Warplanes, shit looks SO cash.
Wait, those are happening? Are they gonna be free? Cause if they follow the model set by WoT, I doubt I'm gonna have too much time for other games! XD

Yeah, defs happening, Youtube search em, the trailer for Warplanes looks sick. Trailer for Battleships is... pretty much reflections of people in a metal... plant... of some... kind. The screenshots for Battleships look SWEET.

If you've played and left all those games, and are going to be willingly playing the next one, then it's not really an addiction is it?

The going outside game.

If you don't want to play any of those games I think that something in the mmo genre isn't what you're looking for.

Well since you clearly haven't been outside in over a decade... I'm gonna have to recommend that.

Seriously you appear to have played enough MMO's to last four life times.

Hey! I recently came to know about this really great MMO thats been around for really long but isnt popular yet for some strange reason.

Its called : Real Life: Existence.

Its servers have been running for ages!It has over 7 billion online players and a world area of about 148,940,000 km2 and water area of 361,132,000 km2 for your terrestrial and aquatic exploration pleasure. It has over 8.7 million different species of generated animal types each with different abilities, body shape and hit points scattered over the land and water masses for hunting, gathering, capturing, domesticating etc..

You have 243 kingdoms that you can choose to live in each with its own 10000 year history and raging current political campaigns that you can choose to be a part of in over 100,000 different professions from warriors to engineers to strippers to astronauts! The list is endless. The crafting system is limited only by the current state of advancement and new tech trees are added everyday!

The world is drawn in detail and the graphics are FREAKIN AMAZING!! But it runs on all specs. the Brightness and Colour Perception can change depending on your own current state of the software, but it has been optimized for all hardware.

There is a plethora of quests on offer ,with all kind of game modes possible including tag, group, horde or anything you can think of! The ingame scripting language is simple to understand but hard to master but yields rich returns once you learn all the intricacies of the bits and bytes.

The character creation and customization is infinite in its scope and the personality can be refreshed anytime in game and changed according to your liking.

ANd best of all it is FREEE!!.Absolutely FREE!!.As long as you can recharge your health meter every now and again, you can continue playing. But the thing is you only get one player profile and there are no save games. The game comes with a limited playtime,so you better hurry before your subscription expires.

Play and tell me what you think!!! :) :)

how about Pirates of the Burning Sea?

If you're interested in naval combat in 1720s, then do look it up! Heavily PvP orientated, as well as RvR.
