Yeap, title pretty much says it all. A friend of mine asked me some music that, well, fitted that description. Usually I'm really good with recommending music myself, but this time I'm struggling.

So here I am asking for some pro-tips and recommendations. The few things I've already found are like this:

It's pretty bloody hard if you tell me.

I can't listen to anything right now so I'm not entirely sure what you're after, but I'm familiar with Rodrigo y Gabriela. I'll just chuck some stuff out there and I have no idea if it's what you want at all.

Walk of the Earth are pretty cheerful summery stuff, they do a load of interesting covers as well (their version of Somebody I Used To Know is awesome, they all play it on the same guitar).

Toh Kay (Tomas Kalnoky, he's in a ska band called Streetlight Manifesto) is pretty brilliant, but he's a bit downbeat. His stuff is all acoustic versions of Streetlight Manifesto stuff, so some works better than others. I guess if you like him, checking out Streetlight is a good move.

Newton Faulkner is a bit like an English Jack Johnson, but has a really cool playing style and a sense of humour. Great fun live too.

Again, I really don't have the best idea of what you want, so I've probably missed the mark massively.

How about everything by Sigur Ros?

As a humongous Sigur Ros fan (like you have no idea, that being one of my favourite songs) I say; wut? It's not exactly sensual.

Ahh yes, I was explicitly instructed to avoid jazz, but a bit of soul can't hurt.

I can't find a vid of it, but if you don't mind a bit of cheese, the Prince song "And God Created Woman" also fits in here nicely.

Seems like what you're after is a bit of gypsy jazz.
I have no good recommendations, just a thought.

Streetlight Manifesto is pretty good. They're kind of the direct opposite of this though, since they're Ska, even if it's the same song.

The Cat Empire is one of my favourite bands. They're Ska too, but they do have a few calm songs.

I can't think that anything else than Reggae fits the description of sensual summer music best though. Well, that's my opinion at least.

Well "sensual" struck me as a totally baffling word to use in relation to music that wasn't trying to be sexual in some way, so I assumed you meant "warm".

Can't believe I forgot about The Doors and The Zombies. Thanks folks.

It's funny that you mention Cat Empire, it's one of my favourite bands as well. Problem is that their best stuff isn't even on Spotify. *grumbles* I was thinking of songs like The Night Never End, The Rhythm (that one's almost cliché) and The Wine Song.

To be fair I don't even like their new album all that well. Sounds a lot more poppy overall. Still better than most stuff out there though.

As for reggae, totally forgot about that but yes I concur. But something older though, maybe something from that is-it-ska-or-is-it-rocksteady-or-is-it-reggae transitional period from the 60's. There's some sensual songs in there.

Fair enough, going by that Hoppipolla is one of the best songs you could've recommended. Together with Glosoli...a magical combination.

Theres a youtuber known as MrSuicideSheep, i highly recommend you go and check him/her out. Its not his/her music but rather it (gonna call it, it) publishes music it finds across youtube, consolidating music into one channel while linking the original artists and getting them channel views via links:

..."Sensual Summer Music"? what? I'm not following, but I'm gonna guess something that has summer feeling to it that is also a bit calming.

Also, since this is a gaming website I'm gonna try my best to post something gaming related aight?

<youtube=MK42R-2p494>

<youtube=T_9odNEbqxw>

Highly recommend both of these albums, if I didn't post a "Sensual summer music" or whatever, your bound to find it either way on these albums.
