Frankly im bored out of my mind playing the same games constantly and its a shitty couple of months ahead of me at work, and the next release to tide me over is around 50 days off, so Im looking for reccomendations to less known titles. PC, dont like fps, pretty much open to every other genre under the sun.

After more obscure stuff because any mainstream pc title you can name odds are I have played it or own it.

Does it matter how old it is? Cos if not, play the game Heretic or some good ol Carmageddon.
Oh, yes. Definitely. I loved those games.

Are you counting graphic adventures as obscure? If you haven't played any Monkey Island games, do so now. Also, The Longest Journey and Dreamfall, which have the greatest story in the history of the medium (and, in fact, better than 90% of the stories in all the other media)

Hmmm... if you haven't already, check out the indie game pack on Steam.
You should also play Yachtzee's games, they are top notch.
If you don't have a history of seizures, try out Randy , Municple Abortionist That game is messed up.

Oh hey you've heard of Heretic? Everyone always gives me a blank stare when i say that game.
Are you kidding? I LOVE HERETIC! That weapon which shot all those cannonballs randomly was the best weapon ever.
I don't think I ever actually finished that game, though.

Awesome, yea i havent played that game in years but i liked it more than Doom. The final levels are insane, i think at the end you fight like 3 of the minotaur things. Its right up there with the difficulty of that insane Doom II end level.

Oh man, the memories.

Umpteenth time that I've suggested it (because I love it, so): Impossible Creatures. RTS that lets you customize your units pretty much however you want.

Got a month or two to burn? You can try the "Super Robot Wars" games. Check Aeon Genesis Translation Projects for the English translation patches to a few o' them.

Heretic.... jesus that is incredibly old school man. Kudos to both of you. I remember playing that on my Pentium 1 along with the original Doom, good times....

Warzone 2100

Got it in Mexico back in 2002. It's free (abandonware) now, improved upon by the fanbase and programmers from the original team.

Homeworld 2! or homeworld 1 or cataclysm or any of them. A fun rts that works in 3 dimensions instead of just that topdown thing most rts has.
