You'll find it on this site, it's called Genre Wars.

Click on the link at the top of the page.

Google for Sauerbraten.

If you can't spell it, google for Cube 2.

There's your epic game, now I hope you can manage to get some text in that post, because something tells me there's a ban bug lurking around the corner.

Epic? That's very broad. If you're like me, you want something with action/gore. Might I recommend Fallout 3? My friend showed my Resident Evil 4 yesterday and I thought it was great. I haven't played Resident Evil 5 yet, but you can try either one of those two if you want something good.

The Witcher.

Only if you actually like RPGs enough to follow the storyline, however, as it is a puzzling, though epic, one.

You do, however, need a rather good computer to run it.

At least a 256MB Vid card and 2gigs of RAM is highly recommended. You may think you can run it with a lower end computer, but once you get into Act 3, the vast amount of people makes it lag rather badly if you don't have a lot of RAM. (At least, I think that's what it is. I added 2 gigs to mine, so I now have 3 gigs, and it made a huge difference in Act 3.)

If you want a game that you can play until the end of time get one of the Civilisation games, preferably for PC. 3's my personal favourite but all of them are fantastic and since they're played on random maps you've got a game which you can play until the end of the world.

If it's an RPG you're after then I second Fallout 3.

Hey, if you liked Oblivion and Fallout, play Morrowind. SERIOUSLY EPIC.

Its more epic than...something really epic.

As for Resident Evil, don't be surprised if 4 and 5 are not your cup of tea. They changed the gameplay around a little for those, I wouldn't really call them "survival horror" anymore, more like "HOLY SHIT THERE'S THREE THOUSAND ZOMBIES INFECTED COMING OVER THE HORIZON horror".

Grim Fandango or Psychonauts.

That is all.
And these. Do it.

Your going to have to define your definition of "epic" a little more clearly to get my best responses but a general list of games like that are:
Psychonauts
Any Legend of Zelda game
Mass Effect(I've heard good things).
Half life 2(only if you're going to stick around this forum).
Super Mario galaxy
Super Smash bros. Brawl(if you have friends).
Prince of Persia: Sand of time(that one is old too).
Spiderman 2

I'm sure that there are others but, my collection of good games is not with me at the moment and I can only remember a few off the top of my head.
