Now that we have left most of the ''Best of 2012'' behind us, we can start looking forward to the year ahead: What movies/games/books are you looking forward to most?

Starting of early in the year, I'm having high hopes for Gangster Squad, followed by Iron Man 3, Man of Steel and how can we forget GTA V. Even though I am pretty sure Rockstar will postpone it to early next year, much like they did with GTA IV.

Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Rising, Bioshock Infinite, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, I'm hoping Dragon's Crown comes to fruition, and hoping to see more of Watch Dogs.

Kind of figured there'd be more, to be honest.

Now I'm disappointed.

First thing that comes to mind?

If it happens this year, the second season of The Walking Dead game.

I need me some gut punching sadness.

This, Pacific Rim and Wreak It Raplh (What? For some stupid reason, the film will be release this Feburary for us Brits).
Also I'm looking forward to Phantasy Star Online 2 and going to the 2013 MCM Expo Manchester hopefully this time my mate can attend to it.

Lastly the rest of The Walking Dead and new season of Community and Game of Throne.

When it comes to movies, Gangster Squad for sure. I also can't wait for Man of Steel. I'm not sure of any books coming out this year honestly...there are some collections from New 52 that I'm probably going to grab like Justice League vol 2 and some Batman.

I need info on Youkai Watch as well...I just want info...

Games, well there are plenty, Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, GTA V, Crysis 3, FF XIII-3, DayZ standalone, Gears of War: Judgement, i'm sure missed something but that's my tops.

As for movies, i can't recall any atm while i'm sure there are some, only thing that comes to mind is next part of The Hobbit.

I'm looking forward to getting Deadly premonition: Director's cut on the Playstation 3. No more taking over my friend's Xbox so I can play this game. There is more that I am looking forward to, but this is the main thing for me.

Watch Dogs. That game looks incredible. Devil May Cry is also gonna be great, and the new Tomb Raider looks equally promising. I'm also hoping for some news on Prey 2 (one can only hope) and Dragon Age 3.

EDIT: Amnesia: a Machine for Pigs as well. Loved the first one to death.

Movies: Anything with superheroes.

Books: The next thing Cormac McCarthy writes and whatever Haruki Murakami novel that gets translated into Swedish this year. (There's one every year.)

Game wise: BF3: End Game.

Despite my deep cynicism I am actually quite enjoying Battlefield 3, the vanilla release wasn't all that good, but with the various expansions it's becoming the shooter that's got everything. Separately it's still not a great deal, but you can get the Premium edition for £25-ish now and with all the expansions on that's fantastic. My only worry is that EA will abruptly kill it when BF4 inevitably comes out this or next year...

Other Games:
Metro: Last Light
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Doom 4?

Movie Wise:
Wreck it Ralph, Zero Dark Thirty and Lincoln will finally reach British shores, hooray!

Other Stuff.
Alp d'Huez Megavalanche in the summer, if anyone is going shout up, someone on the Escapist must be going besides me...

GTA V, Tomb Raider, and hopefully season 2 of TellTale's The Walking Dead.

Movies I'm not as informed on. There's The Hobbit Part 2, Iron Man 3 (was disappointed with IM2, hopefully this one redeems it), and... I got nothin else.

New consoles should be announced though. I'd say that's something.

Game-wise: I'm looking forward to Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, God of War: Ascension, Tomb Raider, The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto 5, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Pikmin 3, Star Wars 1313 and Total war: Rome II. I'm also kind of looking forward to DmC: Devil May Cry because I don't actually want them to screw it up, and I'd like to see if it does turn out to be better than it looks. All of this pales in comparison to what I'm really looking forward to though - next Monday I'm finally getting my own PS3!

Movie-wise: I'm looking forward to the UK release of Cloud Atlas and Django Unchained, A Good Day to Die Hard, Iron Man 3, Star Trek into Darkness, Man of Steel, Kick-Ass 2, The Lone Ranger, The Wolverine, 300: Rise of an Empire, The World's End, Thor: The Dark World, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Could be a pretty good year for films.

Music-wise: I'm looking forwar-

Music wise (because why not): I can't wait for the new Ayreon album. The producer for Ayreon, Arjen Anthony Lucassen is by far my favorite composer of all time, he wrote three of my favorite albums of all time.
He released a little teaser for his new project in October and I can't wait since then. Here's the trailer if you're curious:
THERE'S A NEW AYREON ALBUM?! Well, I'm looking forward to that now.

Other than that, there's a new Bullet For My Valentine album, Temper Temper that I want to give a listen, as well as the new Omnium Gatherum (Beyond) and Darkthrone (The Underground Resistance) albums that I know of. I've heard tell (via Wikipedia) that Blind Guardian, Cathedral, Dark Tranquillity, Darkane, Death Angel, Deicide, Electric Wizard, Fintroll, Five Finger Death Punch, Gama Bomb, Ghost, Ghost Brigade, Hypocrisy, Iced Earth, In Flames, Iron Maiden, Wintersun, White Wizzard, Vader, Turisas, the guys from Thin Lizzy, Swashbuckle, Slayer, Skid Row, Saxon, Powerwolf, Possessed, Opeth, Metallica, Megadeth, Mastodon, Christopher fucking Lee and Judas Priest may all have stuff planned for this year as well, so I'll be keeping my eyes on all of them.
