Simple title. It's been awhile, and I want to see what the Escapist community is looking forward to in 2016.

Me? Torment: Tides of Numenera. Infinity Engine style, inspired by Planescape Torment (which I JUST got from GoG, tips and advice welcomed), and set in the future fantasy world of Numenera? Absolutely. Sign me up! I just want to explore the bizarre world and see what fascinating things it has to offer.
Mods might be a good idea. [http://www.gog.com/news/mod_spotlight_planescape_torment_mods_guide] Increase the resolution for a modern computer, fix bugs, change a lot of the really annoying and crappy design decisions (like modding in the ability to stack rings in your inventory and not having to roll for health when you level up.) It's up to you but it would fix a lot of stuff that kind of bugged me about the game.

Anyway, I'm most looking forward to the new Deus Ex game. Human Revolution was pretty great. I'm also going to play Torment eventually, not sure when but I'll do it. And is Uncharted 4 coming out next year? If so, Uncharted 4.

Dark Souls 3, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Resident Evil 0(really liked the original on GC), Shadow of the Beast(fond childhood memories of the classic games and this one seems strangely nostalgic) and ofcourse Final Fantasy 15. Apparently the game is finally finished with the first half of the game entirely playable. Probably still need another 6 months or so for streamlining and quality testing but hopefully the game will be out around summer. It should make its 2016 launch window at the very least.

Mirror's Edge 2.

The original Mirror's Edge is one of those not-so-great games that I still love. Eager to see if they can keep what worked while shaving off all the crap that made the first one something of a misfire. Plus they're rebooting the story entirely which is a plus, no being held down by trying to keep continuity with the half-hearted crap that was the first game's plot.
Yeah, I loved that game too. I didn't have any issues with the first person free running that everyone else felt was so terrible. *shrugs* So I'm definitely looking forward to another game in that world.

XCOM 2

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Can't think of any others that haven't released yet that I'm "looking forward to". So that's about it really.

Very, very excited for XCOM 2.

The comparisons to DOTA have made me ever so tentatively excited for/interested in Overwatch.

I'll probably end up playing Legion when it comes out, but I'm not so much excited about that as resigned to it. I dunno. It's complicated.

Andromeda I'm more alarmed about than excited, but I'm interested to see how it's received.

Aside from that, it's feeling like it has the potential to be a thin year, but I'm sure a few games will surprise impress me. Numenera, alas, will likely be junk, if Wasteland 2 was any indication. But I kickstarted it, so I'll be getting a copy anyway.

Not much advice needed beyond using any mods GOG recommends, being patient with the extremely old and rickety engine, and gettin' your reading glasses on. It's a phenomenal game, but it lacks many modern amenities.

Nothing

Nothing except SPAZ 2; Space Pirates and Zombies 2. [http://store.steampowered.com/app/252470/] Think of an oldschool top-down action space shooter, but update it into an actual game, crisp 3D effects, deep gameplay, and add some Civilization-like galactic conquest to it, just to make sure you have a mesh of something unique.

Also I guess there's Doom 4, but I'm going to wait to see if everyone thinks it's trash before I buy it. I don't want some overly-consolized arena shooter.

mount and blade 2 bannerlord is really the only game for me. I'm skeptical but still waiting for doom 4 and the plethora of other arena shooters coming out.

There's actually a lot of games I'm excited for this year.

Mirror's Edge 2
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Final Fantasy XV
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Uncharted 4
The Rise of Tomb Raider (PS4 version)
Dark Souls 3
The Last Guardian (Unless they've lied about a 2016 release date)

So yeah, pretty stoked about 2016. :D

Battleborn, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Doom4 are games I'm lookign forward to that have yet to be released.
Fallout 4 is a game I'll be buying when the price has lowered and the game received a few patches.

XCOM 2. In the alternative dimension where I game on PC... My fingers are still crossed for a console port down the line, though.

Other than that? Mass Effect 3, mostly. In the interim, I'd like to know when the damn thing is set, precisely. *taps foot impatiently and glares at BioWare*

But Dark Souls 3 might regain some DS/DeS soulsian glory, so I hope I end up loving that.

Oh, and Fallout 4, as 2016's when mods hit consoles and I'll know precisely how much of Bethesda's dopiness I'll be able to fix.

Games I'm looking forward to... hmm... well, I'm looking forward to a few titles that promise to continue their franchise's trend of excellence: stuff like Persona 5, Yakuza 5, and Atelier Sophie (hoping that last one gets a region 1 release, and all)

I'm also excited about FF15, possibly against my better judgement.

Though I do agree with the sentiment above about the feeling of that "one big, killer game" just not being there for me, anymore. It's been years since I've let myself get fully hyped for something.

Though we've still only had the one trailer, I still need Gears 4 in my life. I've consistently loved all of the games, and the trailer gave me the impression that they've retconned the atrocious ending to Gears of War 3. Any declaration, however indirect, that Gears 3 should have ended at the end of Act 4 gets my love and interest instantly.

I'm also interested in seeing whether Uncharted 4 has picked up any lessons from The Last of Us or Tomb Raider 2013 to have gameplay that isn't atrocious.

XCOM 2 has my attention when it comes to consoles. Which it definitely will if Enemy Unknown got ported to everything with a screen.

Apart from that, I'm also interested if the original director and Amy Henning leaving the project, and Straley and Druckman taking it over has had any negative ramifications on the game overall.

The only ones I'm really thinking of right now are:

Shadow Warrior 2: Looks phenomenal. I watched the gameplay for Doom 4, and basically went right back to Shadow Warrior 2.

X-Com 2: It's X-Com.

This is an early access game that they've been releasing bits and pieces of for a while, but Grim Dawn is nearing completion and I can't wait. I'm a sucker for ARPGs, and this game is just too much fun.

Doom 4 - heard very good things about the last closed alpha, and it looks like it'll at least be fun
XCom 2
Persona 5 (hopeful)
Warhammer: Total War - First Total War in a while I've been interested in, and I love that setting.
Dark Souls 3
Killing Floor 2 Content complete (hopeful)
Horizon: Zero Dawn. Been waiting to grab a ps4 until Persona 5, this one might push me over.

I've got a few...

Doom - Tried the alpha. It was fantastic. Really can't wait to dive into the campaign upon release. Oh, and SnapMap looks fun and surprisingly robust.

No Man's Sky - I haven't been this excited for a game release in years. I'm fully aware that my anticipation may come back to bite me, but the sheer potential of this game has me in awe.

Hob - An homage to grandiose, stylized adventure games like Zelda, Ico, and Shadow of the Colossus by the team behind Torchlight 2. What's NOT to love? Plus, even the early gameplay vids look downright gorgeous. Runic has some talented artists.

Routine - An atmospheric exploration game with equal parts horror, tension, and mystery. What little has been shown looks remarkable. Especially when one considers the game's being made by a team of just three people.

Battletech - A turn-based strategy game from the original creator of the series and the dev behind the recent Shadowrun games. Really hoping it's a return to form for the series.

Yooka-Laylee - The spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, and developed by the original Rare team. How could I not be excited?

Firewatch - A story-driven first person game with heavy emphasis on atmosphere and exploration. Campo Santo, the dev behind the game, is comprised of some of Telltale Game's best people. Can't wait to unravel the story in this one.

Homeworld: Shipbreakers - Haven't heard anything from the team for about a year. Not since the whole thing with Gearbox and the Homeworld Remastered release, anyway. I'm still holding out hope that the game's in active development.

Half-Life 3 - Egh, you never know. 2016 could be the year...
. . . . .
Or not. Whichever.

It's funny. Looking over my list (and a few I haven't mentioned) I've come to realize that, besides Doom, there aren't many, if any, other triple-A games that I'm genuinely excited for in 2016. Virtually all of my anticipated games are indies or smaller budget affairs.

Hmm. Odd, that. I guess I'm just getting burned out on the triple-A industry.
