Already been doing my homework about resolutions and whatnot, now I'm looking into brand names and models- I've got my eye on a Sony Bravia, anyone have recommendations about what brand or model?
(Looking at screens between 30-40 inches and LCD, price range about $700-900)

Do you want a full hd or hd ready or non hd?

Do you want a tv for gaming or for watching movies/shows?

It looks like this model Sony-KDL-46EX500 would fit nicely into your range. 46" LCD 1080p for about $900.

I have something similar at home (Samsung 42" LCD 1080p) and it has been great for the year that I have had it so far. Only cost about $800 as well.

It kind of goes without saying that HD is necessary these days.
Gaming is a plus, but mostly general TV/Movie watching.
