Right so I have concluded that my old 9800GT [http://www.gpureview.com/geforce-9800-gt-card-575.html] has most certainly fried itself, so, I'm browsing around for a new GPU. Right now I"m looking at this one right here, GTS 450 [http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130572]

The price is right within my range after I just scrap a few more bones, but I want to make sure that now only am I getting a card that's a good bargin, but also will give me equal or greater performance (I mean hey may as well use this as an excuse to upgrade). I'm fairly sure it will but, I'm naturally OCD with this stuff and like to get as many 2nd opinions as possible.

I haven't heard much from the GTS 450, then again these cards tend to be lower spec than I'd normally go for.

Alternatively you have the Radeon 5770 which is a bit faster, but is also about 20 bucks more expensive.

5770s do run VERY well in Crossfire, and a lot of higher end gamers use two in Crossfire as an alternative to getting a pricier 5870.

In the end, it is your choice.

I have a 5770 I couldn't be happier with it. Drives my two monitors great and doesn't get too hot, not unless I am playing Crysis which runs quite smoothly at my main screen's native resolution of 2048x1152 at just below maximum settings. That GTS 450 doesn't look like a bad choice though.
