Well more specifically losing faith in my town, apparently here you have to and can only listen to mainstream rap(I get funny looks when I listen to good music),any game other than CoD sucks, and every so often someone who doesn't even know me will point and say something about me being a "******" or "Jew c*nt" oh and you have to dress "gangsta" and speak in slang, and I'm tired of all the stupidity,is it like that anywhere else or is my town the epicenter of human stupidity?

Here I am in my flannel vest, spinning Lynyrd Skynyrd and thinking it's 1987... I live in the past, 'tis a colorful place.

My birth town was the same way. Not my current one, thank Christ. Best way to get around it is to turn the whole situation into a joke. They start saying something that you have good reason to believe wasn't english in the first place, just out-talk them. They wont understand a lot more than you wont understand. I find it thoroughly entertaining.

Sorry to hear you live somewhere like that.

OT: I haven't encountered an entire town like that, and I certainly don't live in one.

Uh oh, this again.

More "losing faith in humanity" type of threads.

Great.

Opinions are opinions, everything is equally shitty, and having faith in anything is not a very good idea. Have knowledge and realistic views instead.

Did you get caught in some kind of time warp? You should document this! For science!

Good luck with that situation too.

Wow your town is a true bastion of ignorance :p
Think differently and you shall be tired for heresy! Rap is the one and true music!

Most of that applies to where I live and the school I attend. CoD's getting so mainstream the salmons have started hating on Halo. They don't even talk about Gears of War. And all popular music that was popular a month ago is "hip" here. I hate it.

Sounds like you and I live in the same city.

I've just learned to live with it. I laugh when people call me "******" which is quite a lot. In fact, it happens probably every time I go out, but I learn to laugh at those idiots who think gangsta rap is the coolest thing ever.

They're just a bunch of mindless sheeple. Ignore them

May I ask what state you live in, cause you just described my high school to a T.

While I don't get called a ******, the college I attend pretty much fits this description. Apparently the only games out/coming out on the 360 are MW2 and Call of Duty Black Ops.

Where i used to live had the highest knife crime in the country and was basically young thug central!

Where i am now used to be full of "chavs" who would just start on you for no apparent reason to look "hard" infront of the girls they are with. But once everyone started sticking up for themselves it eventually went away and is now a rare occasion.

But back in my youth i used to sit down a garden area in town smoking weed and drinking listening to metal. Fair to say people didn't really like us.

I bet it's not even good rap. You should play them some Grandmaster Flash and blow their minds across the street. You have my sympathies, Childe of Malkav. I'm in a similar situation, but replace the wannabe ghetto superstars with giant pickup trucks, Rebel flags, and Toby Friggin Keith. You should see the looks I get when blasting Bowie or Emperor from my car.
Represent.

I live in one of the nicer parts of Vancouver, also known as the sometime nicest city in the world, and I don't usually have to deal with such horrid people. I occasionally run across a fool or two, but then I hear about things like this, and realize that my life isn't as bad as I think it is.
