Losing the game

Is there any games where the ending has you lose?
The only one I can think of his heavy rain and that's only partially due to it being a choice driven game.

EDIT: I can understand where you're coming from with you dieing but I mean as in the bad guys actually win. Or good guys in case you are a bad guy.

Your other, testosterone fueled meatsack of a squadmate kills the guy you were supposed to arrest and hold hostage in order to end the war, giving the helghast more incentive to kill your ass and the last shot is of the small remenants of your army looking up as a large fleet of helghan warships fly overhead.

Doesn't Call of Duty 4 end with you have a freaking nuke dropped in your face? I'd say that qualifies for you losing at anything. Nothing beats having trekked through the entire campaign to only have that happen to you.

Big? Come on man that thing barely got past two pages, that's pretty weak for a troll thread around here. You usually have at least a whole page of people saying "report and move on people, nothing to see here" in the first 10 minutes. the hero dies and the bad guy lives. Sure, he has the crap beaten out of him and your given this deep, meaningful funeral but at the end of the day, the guy who slaughtered hundreds of people gets to actually see the next day.

I too will go with the halo reach ending. The biuld up was huge and you really got a sense of noble sixes character.
