So I just played a game of DotA II (my first public game without my friends) as Skeleton King, who I've only played once before in a private game with a friend vs two Easy bots. Two players dropped on either side, so it was me, Dazzle and Windrunner vs Sven, Jugganaught an Jokrio. And I destroyed them. It was hilarious and also a little tragic, because by about ten minutes from the endgame I was level 23, ten levels about their highest character, had Armlet of Mordiggian Divine Rapier, Heart of Tarrasque and Heaven's Halberd, along with two Iron Branches from early game, as well as fully upgraded abilities and stats, bar two. Basically I was doing about 600-650 damage a hit with 90 health regen. and 3500 health, as well as lifesteal, crit. strike and resurrection. The game ended and then Sven said "Skeleton I reported you". Wait, what? At no point did I cheat throughout the entire game, at no point was I BM, and I didn't lag the game or do anything like that. I didn't even try and kill the enemy heroes specifically, I only had 18 kills by the end of the game!

So Escapists, Was he (please say no) justified in doing that, should I appeal if the report is successful, and what are your thoughts on this sort of thing?

Never played DotA, so I have no clue about its rules or what you were rambling about...

All I caught was your opponent thought you were cheating and supposedly reported you for doing as such.
So, I see nothing wrong with his course of action.

If he did, in fact, report you and it is followed up, you can simply explain that you weren't cheating and there's no skin off your nose.

You should lodge a counter report.
You know, like counter-suing that happens in a civil court.

If the person suing you is an idiot, you can counter-sue them for idiocy.
Err, not quite, but the gist is there.

You played properly and won. Your opponent was terrible and rather than realising that, tried to discredit you through official channels.
That kind of stupid should be permaban worthy.

Just ignore the sore loser, he was either not serious or a complete idiot. His report shouldn't go anywhere since you did nothing wrong and you need many reports against you for action to be taken. If you have consistently been doing nothing wrong then it isn't an issue.

Nope. He's just a sore loser.

You legitimately stomped him and he had a cry over it.

I think I found your problem. Dota's (and by extension, just about every other Moba's) community is horse shit.

If they aren't swearing at you, they're swearing at you in Russian.[footnote]The bad community and Russians aren't connected, don't want to start an incident here.[/footnote]

Ignore him and move on. It happens in MOBA's and FPS games more than it should. For instance a week or so ago i was doing Normals in LoL. I picked Wukong and went bottom lane with an amumu against a graves and blitzcrank. I don't build Attack Damage like most people. I rush Greaves and Madreds then build Bloodthirster, Phantom Dancer and Frozen Heart. I was 23/8/11 i think. Anyways, the whole game the Amumu is yelling at me. Accused me of Killstealing, and not letting him "have one".

I switched lanes with the Mid who was struggling (By that point i had greaves, madreds and my Bloodthirster) and started wrecking mid. He follows, and does the same thing. "KS KS KS!!! I'm reporting you!" The rest of our team is on my side and defending me and telling him to chill out. I tried defusing by just grabbing buffs and slaying dragon. Another team fight erupts after i down dragon. Amumu dives onto:

He goes down extremely quickly. He wasn't building armor or defense. *shakes head*

I come in, and we Ace. I think i got a double and got 3 assists. Nobody griped. Except Amumu

"Way to let me die Noobkong. Reporting you."

We won and i put him on ignore. Got contacted by Riot, and they said, we went over the match, you did fine, don't worry about it.

Don't sweat people like that. You played well, don't let it get to you.

Pretty much this. Want an example? Look at the LoL community. I used to listen to some friends on Skype who played and they'd flip their shit over stuff. No clue what it was, though. It's not limited to them, either.

I'd probably lean towards "most" in the community just to avoid the few who aren't complete tools who wear penile hats.

God this is why DOTA needs emote buttons. You ever do badly in LoL just mash your character's laugh, trust me it works. Bind it to your keyboard if you have too. Laughs reduce rage. You heard it here first.

A ten level gap sounds ridiculous but from what i've heard of DOTA's mechanics it is perfectly doable if it is that much of a stomping match. If it was actually a 3v3 then you're playing an AD Carry who cannot die. You have to be killed twice. That's a bit unreasonable don't you think? Kind of a 4v3 in a way.

You're not cheating obviously, pubstomps are pubstomps

Y'know it's been a while since anyone brought up hacking or cheating as an excuse in LoL. I have never once seen any proper hacking in any of my games so i'm not surprised.

Still there was a guy who raged at our Twisted Fate for being able to see him and target him through a bush as it was "against the rules." Yeeaaaah you do realise what TF's main gimmick is right? Teleportation and vision? His ult reveals the entire enemy team, basically turning the map into Spectate Mode for 6 seconds then he can teleport 5500 units away throughout that duration. That's almost an entire lane away.

I hate good TFs. They're fucking everywhere the moment they hit level 6, tower diving all day. The only thing I can do with him is pick the wrong card and feed horribly.

That Amumu couldn't 1v5? God how bad was he? Pro as heck guide to Amumu: Bandage in, cry on them, mash Tantrum, walk into the direct centre of their team, ult all 5 of them then walk out on like 100HP. Rest of team gets an Ace.

And wait, you tried defusing by grabbing buffs? That makes me smile, Amumu needs Blue. So if by "grabbing buffs" you mean "not offering Blue to the mana-reliant tank" then that sounds like the perfect way to defuse a situation! Never underestimate the power of a person's feeling of entitlement to random ass buffs.

When I jungle, fuck 'em all the Blues are mine! Pick Katarina or something if you can't deal with that. Oh and if the mid is constantly dying, do not let them take your Blue Buff. They will more than likely end up giving it to the other team :/

For your information.
In games on the internet very few are good losers and can acknowledge the fact that another player is better than them. At least in League of Legends this happens a lot and then this is what happens.

He reports me because he thinks I cheated or just couldn't handle the fact that I had a good game for once
The mods looks through the video of the game
They notice I didn't do anything wrong but played well
Nothing happens

If you know you did nothing wrong then don't care about it. People reprt each other of the most strange reasons and very seldom do the ban acutally get delivered to the guy. People are just sore losers that's all.

When I saw your thread title, I immediately thought of this (sorry for the poor quality, only one I could find).

OT: Never played the game, but no. He's not justified. Just being a cry baby by the sound of it.

C'mon, how often in a MOBA can ya seriously expect someone to not get upset to infinity and beyond over anything that happened in a match? I've had threats of being reported to the tribunal in the League of Legends on account of not sucking and repeatedly killing someone, crazy bastards.

He was terrible. And he had a blue, i was stealing enemy teams buffs, probably should have clarified that. My bad. I was essentially leaving him to it.

Regarding the 1v5 thing, no most amumu's cant properly engage a team fight. Or at least that i've seen. Or they try when i'm extremely fed and have 2 blood thirsters and a phantom dancer with a frozen heart. I build so i can wade in, soak up punishment and clean up. I wait til the enemy wastes their CC's and Stuns then i walk in. If you can't disable me, i win. *shrug*

People are dicks. Half of my negative reputation on XBL comes from "trash talking," where I rarely use the mic except with my friends. Obviously, they're just looking for an excuse.

I know how you feel. I was kicked once from a team deathmatch because I had more kills than the host player, and another time because the game randomly shuffled me into a team with max-level players, and I'd only just begun playing online. Somehow I was going to ruin their chances on winning - bear in mind the other team had only level 1-5 people, so they were cheating anyway.

Hmm, maybe my badass move speed Quints and lvl 3 movement speed boots have something to do with it. You have a full 2 seconds of taking no damage or CC if you ult everyone (as you should) to just walk on out with your 400+ movement speed. You just have to live long enough to make it so everyone is in range of your ult. The stun gives you a free escape and is a great inititate for your team. I guess if you try that and you're against an Irelia you're kinda fucked. She can counter-stun you instantly if she didn't go full retard and dropped Merc Treads.

Seriously, any Irelia who takes Ninja Tabi, or fucking Attack Speed boots over Treads is dead to me.

I don't even bother with the Bandage actually, I literally just walk into their entire team.

The Bandage is more of a follow-up chase thing if someone gets away/escape/save tool

I do tend to get an early GA, regardless of whether i'm dying or not. I rarely have to pop it though. Walking out on 100HP is still my priority XD
