So, here's the game. I'll start off with a song lyric. The first person to guess it will then list another lyric, for other people to guess. Please no songs which aren't in English. And please don't try to be a jerk. There's no prize for stumping everyone, so let's keep it only moderately obscure. If things get rolling, I'll probably jump back in myself if I know any answers.

Added difficulty: no search engines. There's no way to check, so it's an honor thing.

Here goes:

"Waking up with an ugly face
Winston Churchill in drag
Looking for new maternal embrace
Another tired old gag"

Easy. Your Lucky Day In Hell by Eels.

"The sirens are screaming and the fires are howling
Way down in the valley tonight
Theres a man in the shadows with a gun in his eye"
Had to be done.

Meatloaf, Bat outta Hell

O Freunde, nicht diese Töne!
Sondern laßt uns angenehmere anstimmen,
und freudenvollere.
Freude! Freude!

Beethoven - 9th Symphony - O Freunde, Nicht Diese Töne

"Bibit hera, bibit herus,
bibit miles, bibit clerus,
bibit ille, bibit illa,
bibit servis cum ancilla,
bibit velox, bibit piger,
bibit albus, bibit niger,
bibit constans, bibit vagus,
bibit rudis, bibit magnus.
Bibit pauper et egrotus,
bibit exul et ignotus,
bibit puer, bibit canus,
bibit presul et decanus,
bibit soror, bibit frater,
bibit anus, bibit mater,
bibit ista, bibit ille,
bibunt centum, bibunt mille."

Again English only. It's not exactly difficult to read the op.

Beg your pardon kind sir. I'll try again:

"Ninety-seven percent of our Presidents were Masons
Responsible for launderin trillions of dollars from the nation
for the construction of underground military installations
Abductions and cattle mutilations"

It took three mother-loving posts for this to go nuts? Let's start this over from the top:

only songs in English, please

edit: that sounded a little more strident than I meant it to. But three posts is a personal record for things going off the rail.

so we're starting from the top?

just remember that youre standing on a planet thats revolving,
revolving at 900 miles an hour
It's orbiting at 90 miles a second, so its reckoned,
the sun that is the source of all our power!

:D

Sorry, I misphrased that. So, to get us back on track:

The answer to yours is the Galaxy Song by Monty Python. Here's the next one for people do to (as supplied by the previous correct poster):

Galaxy Song - Monty Python

She says "wake up, it's no use pretending"
I'll keep stealing, breathing her.
Birds are leaving over autumn's ending
One of us will die inside these arms.

EDIT: sorry i was to late so i guess this does not count.

Oh, to heck with it. I've made a hash of it anyway, so just keep going. I'll send a message apologizing to S.H.A.R.P. If you would give us another lyric, then, and I'll try to interfere less.

Oh friends, not these tones!
Let us sing more cheerful songs,
And more joyful.
Joy! Joy!

If I had posted that no-one would have got it at all because the song is not in English but German. Ode de Joy from Beethoven's 9th Symphony is such a well known song that the fact it isn't in English didn't diminish its value as a suggestion to this thread. Besides, SHARP got it anyway, and reasonably quickly too.

This one might be a bit obvious but here goes:

Now lets toast the sad cold fact
our love's never coming back
and we'll race to the bottom of a glass

Hehe thank you! Guess who made me listen to it recently, and why it was conveniently placed on my ipod to listen to :).
