Not too long ago I heard the song I Love the Night [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5u-eoN3I60] by the Blue Oyster Cult, and have been extremely impressed by it.
However, I caught wind that there was a missing verse to it that didn't make it into the album version, and I haven't been able to find it transcribed anywhere at all.
It is actually sung in the linked version, and in this one [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPIaHaNuhu4] and this one [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4DBWPOoeJg&feature=related], but wouldn't you know I just can't make heads or tails of what he's saying. It seems like in every version I've found where he sings it, he mumbles it or sings it more softly than the other verses.
There are two parts I'm looking for help with, the first of which goes 'out in the air, [unintelligible], if only you had been here we could have shared this together.' In the first video, which I think is the clearest of the three, this falls between 2:50 and 3:00
The second part is the final verse in the versions in which it is sung, which goes, '[unintelligible], looking for ladies walking along, who forget the day when I say...' This falls between 4:10 and 4:40 in the first video.
In none of these three versions can I make either part out with any certainty. I could venture a guess on the first part, but I've got nothing on the second at all.
If there are any Blue Oyster Cult-ists out there who know the lost lines, or just someone who has a talent for understanding gibberish in songs, please help me out! It's driving me nuts! My sanity will really appreciate it.
