I just bought the Lord of the Rings soundtrack and I really liked the track 'Concerning Hobbits' and I was wondering if anyone knows of any legitimate classical music like it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, anyone else bought it?
If you did which version? I shelled out an extra £10 or so and got the Howard Shore version and I think it's really worth it because it's the origonal recordings, so they haven't lost any of their epicness.

My uncle bought the LOTR sound track. I don't know which one it is, but my favourite song is the one they always play when showing the evil of Mordor.

Oh, I love the LOTRs soundtracks. I like epic music.

As far as...classic music in a style that would resemble LOTRs soundtrack....I dunno. I'm not a music--well, I'm no music expert.

I got mine off Amazon for about £15.
There are versions of the entire Trilogy for about £7 but they arn't the origonal recordings.
I would say deffinatley get the complete trilogy by Howard Shore.

Howard Shore.
Is that Shore pronounced the same way a Shaw? If so the composer for the Lord of the rings has the same name as my dad.

I bought it a long time ago when the orchestra I was playing for at the time was doing a concert series based on the movie soundtrack.

If you want similar, I would suggest probably Gustav Holst's "The Planets" or Berlioz's "Symphonie Fantastique".
