Considering that you linked Two Steps From Hell, check out Immediate Music. Pretty much the same kind of music, though I much prefer Immediate.

A thread about "Epic" and no one has posted any Rhapsody (of Fire)? Blasphemy!
[small]Allow me to fix that.[/small]

I think obviously the only answer would be "the final countdown" by Europe.

Somebody posted AiC, so I'll post some lovin' from AC/DC:

EDIT: Just saw "orchestral". First word I saw was "epic", sooooo... Eh, I can fix that. GO GO Secret of Mana!

THAT'S how you do music epicly in a game, my friends.

I have the perfect thing - my Epic playlist on Spotify

[link]http://open.spotify.com/user/flatfrog/playlist/6dpnTr6eXZKiqocAdercNV epic[/link]

My definition of Epic in music is slightly different from yours - I class it as anything that builds to a big conclusion, even if it starts small. Feel free to skip a few. But a few of my favourites in there:
Time Flies by Porcupine Tree
Bad Man's Song by Tears for Fears
Out of Sight by Spiritualised
Lose Yourself by Eminem
You are Wherever Your Thoughts Are by Steve Reich
Little Johnny Jewel by Television
The Masque from Prospero's Books by Michael Nyman
And the finale: Breathe In The Air by Pink Floyd, as arranged for orchestra by Jaz Coleman. Awesome.

Halo's music is practically "epic" in music form.

There's a reason why Martin O'Donnell get's the most cheers at gaming conventions than othe r Bungie members, and why the biggest concern with 343 making halo games is that Marty is still with Bungie.

Listening to the new record "Stoned" from Acid Witch, that was the first that sprang to mind.

Other than that, and more seriously perhaps... Bathory. Seriously, that band is epic beyond measure. Hot damn.

(it takes that you're into metal and vikings, but when those conditions are met, it's the best thing since electricity and the most epic music since... eugh, damn, like ever)

Sacred Worlds or Wheel of Time from Blind Guardian. Alternatively something thats more orchestral, just look up music from the LotR movies or the BFME2 soundtrack.

There's some Orchestrated Kingdom Hearts music that's totally awesome (Hikari, Simple and Clean, Lord of the Castle, Darkness of the Unknown, Passion and Fantasia alla Marcia for Piano, Chorus and Orchestra, to name but a few)

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="960" height="750" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3GtMqwhJuNI?hd=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

Also, the obvious but still awesome Requiem for a dream (Yup, I was the one who'd pull it out the bag :p)

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="960" height="750" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/xE0UA8RREX4?rel=0&hd=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

And since someone posted the proper version, gotta be some Powerglove in there :D

Holy Orders (Be Quick and Just Shred) -- Powerglove
<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="960" height="750" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/apRtamRa3NI?rel=0&hd=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

Some of the Orchestrated pieces for Tangled are pretty awesome, I highly recommend listening to the Darksiders soundtrack as well, since that also has some brilliant pieces

Edit: Lol, ok the embed failed, but I dunno how to do it properly so I'll put the links at the bottom

The Apothecarry said:
Look up Jeremy Soule or Martin O'Donnell. They have some great scores for games.

Soule:
-Total Annihilation
-Dawn of War
-The Elder Scrolls IV/V

O'Donnell:
-Halo

As for my personal tastes, I'd go with Slipknot, Chevelle, or Tool.
Add the Knights of the Old Republic Soundtrack to Soule's work.
