The act that he puts on, that of a bumbling, naive Englishman, is surprisingly effective at getting people to open up. His choice of topics tends to be fascinating as well.

I don't think that's really what happened. He's not jewish, but he purposely decided to not tell the guy whether or not he was, to make him feel uneasy and to see his reaction.

Oh yeah, thats what happened. it was ages ago when i watched that, soooo funny. Someone mentioned the one where he spent a week with the baptist church family, that is the best one (IMO)

I like him. If you like his documentaries then you should also look up Jon Ronson as he is similar.

I've been watching him since he first appeared in the 90's, I really like his documentaries. I try and catch everything he does, I especially liked it when he visited Johannesburg.
