It's a bit late for me to post this, but over Halloween I found myself fondly remembering this game.

I thought Medievil was a fine game. While not exactly challenging, the game immeresed players in a beautifully quirky, dark universe. I can still remember Sir Dan's hopeless attempts to communicate despite his lack of a tongue, the sound the hammer would make after slamming it to the ground, and the monstrous pumpkin that would attack you before you could move on to the haunted forest.

Anyone else remember this game? Favorite levels? Weapons? Enemies?

I absoluted loved Medievil, and the satisfaction that came with completing a full chalice for the level, followed by the Hall of Heroes straight after.

I believe it's available on the PS3's download service, but I'm an Xbox man so no such luck for me. I think there was a remake for the PSP, but I remember shunning it after my failure at using the PSP's analogue stick.

"Sir Daniel Fortesque back from the dead once again" = one of my favourite quotes for some reason, but yeah i adore that game not so much the second but the first is pure gaming gold and more people should play it/should have played it back on release.

Shogun is still the one that has highest regard from me. I think its the only Total War game ive bothered to conquer the map in (Yes im aware that was the aim & it was a comparatively much smaller map :-D). Even Rome I didnt get into as much as I got into Shogun...guess it was just coz it was the first.
I think we're talking about different games here :p

I absolutely loved medievil. One of my favorite games on PS. Too bad the PSP game controlled like a whale on ice skates.

No no, we're talking about the game with the skeleton knight.

Either way, yes. Damn yes. I loved Medievil. I was possibly my favourite game for Playstation. It was pretty deep, it was funny, it was great to play, and it was just great all the way through, from the tomb of Sir Daniel Fortesque, to a pirate ship fulla skeletons.

However, my favourite is the second one. The second one was set in a further time, so guns were added into the mix. I liked the story, the places you visited had quite a bit of variety, and it had the gatling gun, which was just awesome.
I'm hoping they make a sequel to Medievil Ressurection, just because we don't have Medievil 1 and 2 anymore.

I owned the second game for a spell, but never really got round to playing it properly, which is a shame. Maybe I'll hunt them down sometime and see what I was missing.

I didn't have it for the PS1, but I'm glad I bought it for the PSP.
(and yes, I am used to ol' nubby, I think I'm one of the only people who don't mind it in fact)

Wow, I was only thinking about the medievil games this afternoon, how they really should make a new one. ( as long it keeps the same old humour )

First time killing the crystal beast thing by hitting it in the heart with throwing daggers was rather cool, and being able to pop your head off and put it on the little walking hand to explore small areas in the second game was a really fun idea :D.

Wait, you killed it with the weakest weapon in the game???

I would say I loved the first, because of many things including "Jack of the Green" (or so I think it was) and the Asylum. God, that level was beautifully hard.

I loved MediEvil. back when I had a PS1.

Actually come to think of it, I still have the PS1 in a draw somewhere & I know I didn't trade or throw out all my old games, so I could still actually play it if I manage to find all the bits. I wonder if it will be as good as I remembered it or have fancy graphics spoilt my appreciation of old games...

I liked the comedy in it, I remember those talking hero statue things being particularly funny, although I can't remember what they said exactly.

Rumour is this is another of the titles Sony is ressurecting (no pun intended) for the Ps3. How they can make it next gen and impressive, no idea, but I still think its a good concept to run with.
Photorealistic skeleton with a minigun for the win! I'd pay to see Daniel Fortesque fighting in say, the Trenches of WW1 or something.

Bullets and machineguns mean very little to a man without squishyparts...

I loved MediEvil and i wish i got to play the sequal. It was simple yet great to play and despite some annoying boss battles it was made up in almost every way. I loved the village where you could not kill the villagers or you would loose souls from the chalice.

I loved Medievil. I still have that game, and I still play it. Sir Dan still sits in my mind as a memorable protagonist, mostly because of his lack of a jaw. My favorite weapon was his arm, because it was so funny beating a zombie with my own limbs.
