I used to have full control of my dreams when I was little. Nowadays I just tend to get lost in the dream and mistake it for reality, although about a month ago I became fully aware in my dream and was acting like a cynical dick to everyone inside of it :p

I do that all the time. I think most people can when they're in nightmares, since a lot of people seem to be able to conciously wake themselves up.

I hate those dreams where you think you've woken up and then you haven't really and something shit scary happens to you and you think it's real.

Do those dreams have a name?

I can only remember this happening to me once.

I was five, and having one of those nightmares where you're attacked by something horrible from the dark. I just remember realising very suddenly that it wasn't real, and I then proceeded to smack the darkness about with a baseball bat (I was five. I was a violent child, and I don't know where I got the baseball bat from. Don't you just hate inconsistent dreams?).
ooh I've done that too.

Only that my approach was a bit more...strange?

I often figured out i was having a nightmare and reacted in a way to end it in the quickest way possible, so i just tried to die; knowing i wouldn't be able to feel anything. (altough it's hard to die actually, you usually wake up or the bad stuff disapears suddenly)

yeah this happens to me all the time so i usually go around doing stupid things since there arent any consequences in a dream, getting into fights and crashing cars and the like.

I've often had the opposite, where I so truely mix up reality and dreams that I wake up and belive that stuff really happened.

I remember once in a dream, I met my perfect woman, and she was brilliant. Next day, I wake up and decide to go around hers. Then I realise she didn't ever exist. I was bitter for a week.

I remmeber once when I was little, if I wanted to get out of a dream I would commit suicide by falling off a building. It always worked, as my imagination couldn't comprehend what dying was like and promptly Crashed To Desktop

Well...

That's one way to not go to dream Disney Land.

Happens to me on a regular basis. I start trying to apply logic and reality to my dreams, but they generally ignore me and carry on being bizarre

Well, I don't know if I changed it but;

I was dreaming that I was playing a creepy survival horror game - it was a mix between Silent Hill and Eternal Darkness I think - and it was all claustrophobic corridors and scary music until I got to the final boss. The scenery changed into this gorgeous beach with crystal clear water and blue skies and my previously weak character turned into Duke Nukem!

And he could fly

I beat down the final boss, he went "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" and I woke up.

I really hope that was me changing the dream. I want more like that.

Usually, no, I don't, but I can occasionally manipulate some REM dreams.

Like if I realize it's a dream while in it, I can either wake up or ride it out in my own style.

Yeah. It helps when most of your dreams end up nightmares. Gets you out of those sticky "I'm going to die in my own fucking dreams" dream.

I've been trying to lucid dream for years now, but I can only manage it when I nap and usually I wake up once I make that link between conscious and unconscious. But I have been successful, if only briefly, and it's great fun.

I remember once I was dreaming that I was mining for Saddam Hussein (don't ask, it's a dream!) and at some point, I just realised that I was dreaming. So I made him blow up, then I flew away. Then I woke up.

Good fun if you can get it right. Imagine living in your own dreams...

Oh geez, I do that all the time. 90% of my dreams are lucid. I think it comes with being a dream interpreter and being constantly aware of everything going on. Sometimes I change what's going on, other times I pay close attention and note significant things and let it continue on its own path so I can interpret it later.

Mostly all of my dreams have been related to varchld moving here >.< I hadn't dreamed anything for a very long time and suddenly I'm doing it a bunch.

That said, I do dream interpretations, for those who'd like to PM me. I'll need everything that happened, include as much detail as possible (including colors). People are tricky, so if you can include a clip about who that person is in your life it'll make things easier for me.

Although that doesn't happen to me very often-when it does, the dreams only last for like 5 seconds-it has happened one time that I remember. I think I was fighting something and when I realized it was a dream, I was like, "Screw this" and I spawned a griffin and started pwning.

I've had that once. I was in Germany, and was having a dream and for some reason it was in German and then I thought to myself "Holy sh*t, I'm dreaming in German." It was weird.

Can't change what happens in the dream, however I often realized I was dreaming and got amazed by the realism level of it (probably because I'm a 3d programmer) :D

What sucks however is when your body falls asleep but your mind doesn't, feels like you're drowning/stucked in cement, really freaky :/
