anybody ever experimented with Lucid dreams?

specifically wake induced?

share some stories! and maybe give some tips on how to get the best results

For anyone that doesnt know, a lucid dream is a dream that is crystal clear, you cant tell it from reality sometimes even after you've woken up. On top of that if done properly a wake induced lucid dream can leave you perfectly in control allowing you to do whatever you like in a completely vivid world. Look it up you'll like it

I'll start a lucid dream but then I get excited that I could do whatever I want and accidently wake up.

I had one recently. Damn, I'm not sure about the details, though.

I just remember waking up feeling really bad and I was probably laying in my bed because of amnesia. It took me several hours to feel better and another hour before funny realizing it was a dream. I still felt bad afterwards. It was really uncomfortable.

Every one of my dreams has been a lucid dream. Well, most of them, a very large percentage that, despite repeated attempts, I have found no patterns in what causes them.

And the OP's description of a "lucid dream" is sort of iffy.

In my experience, a lucid dream is merely one where you are in control. It still doesn't make sense at all, unless you make sense of it later on. All of my lucid were experienced as... well, me being in a dream. Not reality. That's what separates them from normal ones.

[i\]You know you're in a dream.[/i]

And I feel sorry for coxafloppin. You've never had a dream until you had one where you made yourself God and the experienced world over after you have decreed that there will be no human rights or laws since nothing is real anyway.

I'm not sure, but that sounds more like the description of a [i\]bad dream[/i] that a lucid one.

I never have one where I can control myself, but I am more self aware, like "I know that this is a dream and my mind is controlling me so I just have to let it run it's course" and I do and that's it.

Lucid dreams kick ass. Although I've never had a bad one. Its usually either me running around with a bunch of people I know and we're fighting someone or something, or its a sex dream

Dude! Next time, you gotta take control! You can have immense, unreal fun for the duration of the sleep-cycle if you can manage to take over your own mind. Think of it like the Matrix, the mind makes it real.

I always start by trying to shapeshift.

Just focus extremely hard. If it doesn't happen at first, just imagine it has happened. Things will run their course.

(For some reason I usually end up turning my arm into an axe and marveling at how awesome it is.)

I've always wanted a lucid dream. Unfortunately the only time I realise I'm in a dream is when I wake up.

Twice. Both times I tried to grow wings on my back. Well I DID grow wings on my back but when I tried to fly, it didn't really work. Good stuff.

I try to do stuff like that but it's like no matter how hard I try there is like a barrier between e and my dream. Like how I can make a movie just change to my liking, I can't make my dreams change.

I Practice lucid dreaming. It is something that slowly fades away as you grow older ,so excercises in mental aversion must be taken to improve ones ability. A mental aversion excercise is one where one purposefully does not think about a certain subject and must begin again when that certain subject is breeched(Dont kill me, the multitude who understand that one, very popular thing that this might entail).

Another excercise is to ask yourself if you are dreaming every time you see something extremely common, such as a stoplight.

You gotta practice! Like I used to when I was younger. Always think about it, every day. (As long as it's prudent) And when it happens, do what I did. If that still doesn't work, attempt to make yourself the metaphorical "Star" of the "Movie" and try to influence the "Director" to alter the direction!

And I agree with this man here. Mental exercises are perfect for influencing the mind's replay and commentary over the day when you tuck in for the night.

When I was younger I used to play "The Game" alot. You think it might've helped?

I still play the-I JUST LOST THE GAME-game. It is exactly the kind of thing that I was referring to. I had to explain this to one of my room mates who decided to call me pathetic for playing the game.

I had a lucid dream once but it was actually really messed up. In the dream I was slowly suffocating and descending into hell. I woke up and found out that I actually strangling myself. Trippy but I don't want to have it again.
