But I still stand by my opinion that they could have made this into a patch or DLC or some shit.
I mean, I'm not sure what changes they made to the VATS system, or what the reputation thingy is, but I'm pretty sure some mods to Fallout 3 can accomplish the same damn thing.
[small]Unless they made nut shots possible.. Then I'm buying it[/small]
Then I can guess two things, you haven't heard about the 9 iron melee weapon
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/9-Iron
Then I can also guess you'll be buying it.
I too think Bethesda games aren't the greatest looking (especially when it comes to character animation; in fact, my wife seems to be the only person who can make an attractive character in their engine) but that didn't stop F3 from being my favorite game this gen so far. Hopefully this will be even better. Unfortunately Obsidian's track record of late hasn't been that great.
Tbh, I think it looks a little too much like Fo3, they could've at least changed the UI a BIT, but no, it's just Fallout 3.5, an expansion, now I'm pissed. The best thing to do with another FO game is to dump the fucking Oblivion engine and use something else!
While I will still buy this and play it I am still continually disappointed for what they are doing to this game series. Fallout isn't a damned first person shooter. There are so many.. Stop making it one.
What I wouldn't give for a new Fallout game that is actually like Fallout.

*Sigh* The thing is, is that New Vegas seems just like a fucking mod to Fallout 3. OOoooOOOH! New characters, storyline, weapons and monsters! Well guess what? Mods and DLC do that too:

There. Five Fallout 3 mods for your pleasure. Each adds monsters, characters, weapons and new parts of the world.
Ohhh yes. Tell me that mods cannot accomplish what New Vegas can. Tell me one more time.
So still, I stand by my opinion. New Vegas has brought nothing exceptional to the plate in my eyes. Unless they do an entire graphical re-haul, and all sorts of other shit, then I'm not sold on it.
Hell if you wana go that route then any dlc for fallout 3 could have been created by a mod. Except even those mods dont add an entire new game. Sure a mod can add 10 mabey even 20 hours of additional gameplay, though most often they just enhance gameplay for a game you would have already been playing. New Vegas however will easily net me 100 hours of gameplay aka an entire new game, which means completely new story, factions, new weapons, new environment. Pretty much it adds what any sequal to a game does. We get it you didnt like fallout 3 now shut up and stop bitching about something that isnt true. I would love to see any modder out their create this much content as a mod for any game.

And you have no clue how frustrating it is to converse with you, do you?
All right, since you assholes simply want to beat on a dead horse, I'm going to say these few things. Oh, and I'll place it in a simple numbered format:
1. From what I have fucking seen so far, there really isn't a lot they have done, except show some quick flashy shots of new guns going shooty shoot at new fucking monsters going "AAARRRRGH!" in a new fucking wasteland that looks the same as the last, BUT ORANGE.
2. I did not say I "HATED FALLOUT 3 IT SHOULD DIE!", in fact I loved the piss out of it. What I don't understand though, is why would you buy Fallout 3 again? It simply looks like new stuff has been added, and nothing else has been improved. And making a seperate game out of it, like EA did with the Sims 3, is kind of retarded.
3. Now, I know some mods are ass, but to be honest, the game itself was kind of assed as well:
But at least the mods put a constant effort into it.
4. And okay, sure, "CLEARLY I have no clue what it takes to make a game", but certainly it's within Bethesda's coloring level, otherwise they wouldn't be picking up the fucking crayon, now would they?
So WAAAH WAAAAAH WAAAAAAH! I don't like New Vegas because from what I've seen, it's simply Fallout 3.5 BUT ORANGE, and since I don't like it, and I gave valid reasons why I don't like it, unlike most people, I'M FUCKING WRONG.
But if you want to pay for the same fucking game, BUT ORANGE instead of GREEN, then be my guest!
But who knows? I may be wrong. After all, I've only watched the damn video, I haven't dug through the wiki yet, because I figured it would look just like this:
Maybe it will turn out awesome? I don't know.
EDIT: Oh, and apparently, this is simply to "Tide us over" until Fallout 4. So, yeah, have fun with that overglorified DLC.
