*Puts on Boba Fett helmet*

Whoever said that was a joke. They made a canon comic about Maul being resurrected by some Dark Jedi cult, and lured Vader there to fight him. Vader one in possibly one of the most badass displays of 'Kill you no matter what!' I've sever seen.
I caught a glimpse of that comic. I saw it as an endless debate between reality and imagination. In the movies Vader moves like pudding compared to any of the past Jedis (Luca passed this off as the unfinished training of Luke and Vader being a robot man. When in reality the answer is higher standards and bigger budget) But in my imagination Vader rocked all the Jedis because he's unstoppable like a angst powered killing machine. Put his "style" up against anything in the original trilogy and he'd get his robotic ass handed to him. But It's Vader and like Jesus his true power comes from the nerds who believe in his awesomeness no matter how clunky he was, silly he looked and how basic the original fight scenes were.

Same goes for the acting.

"Myself."
―Darth Maul

Vader As he stabs his lightsbaer through his own chest and kills Maul. Theres your answer
I'd prefer it if Vader just killed him with one hit after about 3 comics worth of build up. And said something cool like: "Obi-Wan got me when I tried the same trick he got you with." or something

At least Luke wasn't as much of a ***** as Anakin was.

Anakin was such a bitchy! "WAAAH! My mom died!", "WAAAH! I saw my wife die in the future!", "WAAAH! I'm evil now!"

GOD I hate him, the stupid *****!
All the Skywalkers are whinny and bitchy. I don't know how they became so powerful. Even Leia is whinny. Love Star Wars but everyone bitches in it. However, little Anakin and teen Anakin (Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christensen) are much worse actors than Mark Hamill.

It's unfair to compare the two. The dialog Luke had was not as bad Anakin's. I wonder how many times Hayden complained about his lines if any. I would have. Look at the Clone Wars animation. Anakin's dialog in that is WAY better than his dialog in the movies.

Luke was MILES better. Sure he was a little "whiny" in the beginning of A New Hope, but then he had to grow up fast. Anakin never seemed to grow up...

Like was the weakest character in the original trilogy, but that was the fault of the writing, not the acting. Mark Hammill did a good job with a character that had little in the way of a distinctive personality as it was written.

OT: Well, Luke was kin- I'´m just fucking with ya. Luke is miles ahead of Anakin.

That's a little more than 2. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jake_Lloyd#Filmography] Even if most of them are minor.

Absolutely not. Luke was kind of annoying in A New Hope because that's exactly what the story called for; he was just some kid on a little backwater planet, wet behind the ears and freshly orphaned. He grows through his experiences and gradually becomes the cool, collected, fully-fledged Jedi Knight we see in Return of the Jedi. It's a testament not only to the writing of the films, but to the skillful acting of Mark Hamill.

Anakin does the "annoying orphan kid from a backwater planet" thing, too, but he never really grows out of it. Even in Revenge of the Sith, when he's every bit as capable as Luke was in Jedi (probably moreso, given his formal training), he's still basically a giant crybaby. It's tough to say whether this is the result of poor writing or Hayden Christiansan's poor acting, but either way, it definitely comes out in Luke's favor.

OT: I guess it is personal preference on what you enjoy and what you don't. If he liked Anakin over Luke, no matter how wrong it is, he is entitled to his opinion.

Anakin was "whinier" (not really the right word, but can't think of a better one), but then he had a lot of shit to deal with that he wasn't good at handling.

He's a far darker character than Luke (who basically goes from hopeless but good, to not hopeless and still good), and to be honest I thought they brought that across pretty well.

NO. KILL HIM!

Okay... sorry, that was a bit extreme. Can we just ban him from existence?

Kid Anakin? You mean like if Darth Vader were a kid?

What a stupid idea for a movie, thank goodness George Lucas is a cool enough guy to not fall into the trap so many other directors have of milking their franchise for every last cent possible even if it means destroying the very ideals which he once stood behind.

Thank Goodness! That would have been terrible. And by the by, Luke was fantastic for the very simple reason that you get to see genuine character growth and development throughout the movies. Sure, it's not the best acting I've ever seen, but it's charming and endearing all at once and, watching the movies for the first time years and years ago, it really made me care about him as a character and hope everything turned out alright.

I prefer Luke over Anakin. But that's because every actor shrivels in comparison to Hamill after hearing him in Arkham Asylum, I mean his career with sci-fi and comics is just fantastic.

Luke was better acted, due to Mark Hamill being awesome(and the freaking Joker), but a lot of Luke's charm comes from what's happening around him. I'd say Luke is better than Anakin, but not much better.

Thanks for your opinion. Here's mine: Toast is delicious when you add butter to it. Can we have a question or discussion topic or something here? I think we just have a flame-bait opinion now.
