Dude, I couldn't agree with this more. I hardly ever throw out any meat, unless eating it would seriously harm my health. I don't waste meat for the same reason that vegetarians don't eat meat.

I'm so in, but to be honest I think that the cows used for leather aren't the same that are used for meat. I could possibly be wrong though.

I asked one of my teachers about this (she grew up on her family cattle farm) and she said you are partially right, most slaughterhouses will just throw away the cow skin because it is more cost effective to simply cut it off quickly and toss away the scraps. some, however, will be more careful and make fewer, cleaner, cuts when skinning the cattle, so that the can sell the hides to be tanned into leather.
