Its probalby a safe bet that every professionsl/commercial/popular recording in hte past 10 years has been mads with pro tools. Micheal Jackson has used it since the early 90's, Axl Rose made Chinese Democracy on it, Metallica were seen using it in 'some kinda monster', Trivium used it on their new album,.. the list is endless.
Your the one out of your league im afraid
Woops! You seem to forget that Pro Tools is available for both platforms. And I really wouldn't want to base my electronics purchases (or decisions on what sort of DAW to use) on what Metallica, Trivium, Michael Jackson, or Axl Rose used. Not that it matters; it's more important to realize how the producers and engineers feel.

And having spoken to ones who aren't complete Apple/Digidesign hacks and read their books and interviews, the only reason they keep Pro Tools (and Macs) around is because of sheeple like the aforementioned stars and very gullible people like yourself.

And if you've tried Sonar 7, Live 7, Logic Pro 8, Pro Tools is not even as good as all these "professionals" say it is."

Hey, that's just like how supremely overrated Macs are!

Now, let's go talk about video production. Oh wait.

So with Mac OS X, you get to overpay for the privilege of using 20% more system resources to take twice as long to encode video! Sounds like a great idea!
Whatever. I know what I, and thousands of professionals prefer. And it wouldnt become an industry standard for no reason. Face it mate, even with all your techno mumbo jumbo, professional prefer the mac experience. Case closed

I think you'll find that these professionals choose what they prefer for themselves

Then I feel sorry for the professionals that choose inferior products.

There is a reason, marketing. The mac is not technologically superior, but people sure will snap up ads.

It's gonna be the case. Let's just go to another topic with our Martinis.

Note* I agree on one thing. Apple uses too much bashing. I still prefer my macbook for studies.

I find it funny that after Eggo completely blows away y8 in the debate, y8 suddenly, almost magically says "Whatever, I'm right your wrong lalalalal icanthearyou"

I like the fact that "y8c616" is basing all of this information on just one man, a lecturer at his college. Okay so he's ex-industry, that accounts for something... but then I suppose if someone in this thread is current-industry and told you they used PC's/Windows, and they know of other studios who use the same... that'd kinda cancel out your third-party knowledge, no?

A lot of places use macs, a lot of places use PC's. It's already been mentioned but this whole bollocks about "Macs are better for creative-ness" is just... well, the afore-mentioned bollocks to be quite frank. I'm a 3D artist and it's safe to say my job, and a lot of the people I work with are in a "very creative" industry. There isn't a single Mac in our studio. I'm not however, about to get into why we don't use macs, or even why we prefer PC's... i'm just another individual coming to you as a professional, letting you know that I, and thousands of others in the same boat as me, use PC's.

On a personal note though, I do believe there are more people using Macs just because they're Macs, than there are people using them because it's better catered to their profession.

This topic made me laugh. The argument between Eggo and "Insert generic name here" was classic. He even pulled out the "Whatever, I know people" argument on Eggo. Good stuff.

As for the topic at hand, the commercials, much like everyones already established, are incredibly ignorant. While it is okay to poke fun every once in a while, you must do it in good taste. Constantly ragging on "software issues" that are essentially non-existant for anyone with half a brain is hitting below the belt. In my opinion, Apple loses major points for its attitude.

Oh dear...
*Realises he is posting with Safari. Walks out quickly.*

Oh I'm sure a Max would be perfect for you if that's the case!

I thought it was hilarious...
No, I just plain don't like Bored Tomatoe because of a thread that seems to think a product is bad due to the way it is addressed to the public, that and he spelt tomato wrong.
I never said the product was bad, I take it that you are a mac fanboy, don't worry, no one is going to hurt Steve Jobs. And I am aware of my misspelling.Troll.

I forgot to mention, that while I don't use a Mac, I do quite like those ads. I think the PC ones out now are good too, mostly because it's a nice counter-attack. Apple were freely saying "Macs are great and fun and cool, PC's are rubbish and boring and eeewww", and "PC" have just come along to say "That's incorrect", without being as blatant as Apple were with the PC bashing, they did their "bashing" by merely imitating the style of the adverts.

Oh without a shadow of a doubt, when money comes into it... Macs lose every time in comparison.

Edit
Okay I'm looking like a real Mac hater here now... I should point out that I really don't care, I'm a man of logic though.
