Sure apple overexagurate in teh ad, but vista is pretty terrible, speaking as a disgruntled user. Sure it does'nt crash a lot, but its always asking to restart. And the system resources it takes up are immense. If you have 1 gb of ram, its always using at least 50% of it. Also the compatibility issue is true. I installed my copy of cubase sx3 and vista wouldn't take it. The program wouldn't save in the specified directory, and it made all the OS's interface un usable. Also id agree vista's no fun. It has no software exept the crappy free games out of the box, whereas macs have ilife, so you can do loads straight off the bat
My vista only asks to restart when theres updates.
I've only had one game that wasn't compatable, and the developers refused to fix it. (they could have easily (lazy bastards))
I love the new interface, its faster than ME (jumped from ME to vista)
PC becomes fun when you buy games for it, the games that come with computers, PC or MAC suck.
I've tried using macs before and they just annoy me. Everyone I know hates macs

This, many times over. Not that mac users talk with their hands, but Maddox took segments from commercials that prove just how idiotic Mac users are.

"I couldn't find anyone who could tell me what cable I needed to plug my camera to my PC"
...
Surely everyone knows what a USB cable is? It IS an industry standard after all...

Windows should just release an ad where the mac guy raves on and on and on about macs and at the end the windows guy just says "you talk a lot of bull" then a slogan appears on screen that say's "Windows, we've already won"

And seriously people Macs are making fun of "WINDOWS" not PC's because macs are PC's to theya re making fun of an operating system no a platform

I love my mac book, ignoring that every time I go to turn it on I say a little prayer that it wont die.
It's great for surfing, watching videos and listening to music. But I own a PC for all my gaming, trying to do that on my Mac would be a waste of time.

Wait they were ads to get people to buy macs?

That's odd; it seems the only thing they (the commercials) did was make the ignorant boycott Vista.

If Macintoshes are so great they'd be advertising something about how Macintoshes are great, and not how a certain competitive OS has certain issues (which have mostly been fixed with the service pack) with certain settings on.

Obviously if you put all the pretty sparkly effects on vista, it'll run slow. Obviously, with a new operating system, you're bound to have a few compatibility issues.

There is nothing a mac can do that a PC cannot. There's no point in buying a mac if you're just going to use Windows on it anyway.

I'm not a fan of the Mac adverts, then again i'm not their target audience.
Note: I am going on about the adverts. NOT the mac users.
The target audience of the Mac ads are those who know fuck all.
I say this because the advert itself right off the bat assumes that the person knows nothing by the opening line:
"Hello I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC" The person who knows fuck all would think that a PC is another operating system and not a term to describe and not the computer itself
The advert then goes to state a flaw with the "PC" while in turn making the Mac look brilliant. To someone who knows what they're doing a lot of the flaws such as the viruses, the BSOD, etc can be dealt with. However if you know fuck all it puts you off.

so yeah there's my reason.

The mac ads piss me off as as where I work almost all are mac owners what is fair enough as not gamers and uni students so mainly used for browsing and papers but as only PC gamer (rest have only 360's and say are superior to PC's but not get into that.) But any anyone goes on about macs or iphone or ipod get same bull every f****** time what said on the ad's.

I the the Mac OS package is quite well done but its 'user friendliness' comes down to its limitations

its like saying a harmonica is a better instrument then a piano because its easier to use

I think they're ace!!! I like how they poke fun at all of windows bad points and bigs up Mac's OS. In fairness, macs are better for 'creative' things such as music and video production, etc. Windows are optimized for office and games. Macs can do all a windows pc can do because of the dual OS software, but not vice versa. Therefore i think the ads are not only funny, but true. If a tad annoying. I hate, however, how the new windows ads are a complete ripoff of the mac ads.
Wow a non-hater :)
Thats good to see.
I'd like to see how many of these PC owners actually have used a mac instead of calling it retarded when the word Mac pops onto the screen.

The commercials are about as polite as some of their users. I'm in the graphic/web design field and if this is ever spoken in the presence of a mac user, they go on a rant about how I I should have a mac because of superior bla bla. I say the same thing every time, "To each their own, I like PCs, you like macs, what's to argue about". There's not much to argue about in my mind, both systems have their own benefits and problems, honestly why should anyone care what the other person uses?

Unless of course it's a console and you wanted to play the game with your friend online, then you can complain and rant.

You know what's strange? I spent almost 20 times less on my gaming/audio PC at home compared to the Mac Pro I use at work every day and...I greatly prefer my home PC for recording music, creating media, hell, doing everything compared to the Mac Pro I use at work.

Just goes to show it all boils down to preference and intelligence.
I use both too and completely agree. Whenever I Photoshop/record/edit/anything on my PC (a pretty high end machine) it usually takes a second or two to accomplish any task. I fail to see the logic in paying more for a machine which does it in the same time (or slower) and has a crappier interface. And one mouse button. Whats the difference in waiting a second for something to process instead of a second and a half? Most people champion stats that only result in an imperceivable amount of computing time anyway, which is fucking retarded.

EDiT: Oh and the Mac ads are annoying. The PC ones are just as bad.

i think the mac ads are kinda dumb, but the windows ads (like the incomprehensible ones with jerry seinfeld) are much, much worse.
personally, i like the mac for doing all my computer work and internet stuff. i use a windows for gaming and...thats pretty much it. i find it too hard to do anything else with them...it really doesn't matter what your computer CAN do...what matters is what you can do with it.

I'd like to see a mac owner who knows what they're talking about and aren't just another sucker for a crappy marketing campaign. But we cant all get what we want.

First of all, my shitty WINDOWS computer fucked up( wish i had a mac now) and secondly, no i don't, but i know plenty of professionals who have worked in various studios for years, most of which will be running a mac pro setup, either with pro tools or logic software.
I assume that it was a PEBKAC error, right?

See... the only once Windows gave me a BSOD and it was purely my fault (switched to a Nividia card and didnt rid of all the ATI files), not once has vista crashed on me or my cousin, so i dont know what mac commercials are smoking, secondly all OS tend to be shit when they come out, due to not enough hardware for it... heres a tip if it crashes on you get a completely new computer, oh shit didnt we have to do that for XP, yes we did... because older stuff wont support, stuff that never existed at the time...

I just loled (Warning not for Mac Lovers)

NO OS is problem free, stop treating it like god, they will crash, and most the time its most likely "your" fault

cant we all get along like these guys?

I brought a mac because i needed a piece of software...

The commercials don't say "On a PC it's like this, but on a Mac, it's like this, which is better." They just say "PCs are gay. Buy a mac."

They don't actually make their product sound good they just talk shit about their competition. It's the same level as ignorance as a political smear campaign.
