Mafia 2 DLC problem?

Alright, so I just downloaded the first piece of the Mafia 2 DLC 'Jimmy's Vendetta' on the 360. Doing what you do when you've downloaded something like this, I stick the disk into the tray and boot up the game. Much to my surprise, I get a message pop up on the main menu saying,

"The downloadable content "Jimmy's Vendetta" requires the newest version of game to function properly. Please install the latest title update."

Now, what the hell? You can't just manually choose to update a game, it happens automatically when you boot up the game connected to LIVE. I'm connected to LIVE, so it should have asked me if I wanted to update then. I've gone back to the dashboard and loaded the game back up again, and still no update.

Is anyone else having this issue? The DLC only came out today so I doubt many people here have it. Those of you who do have it, did you encounter this? If so, how did you fix it?

I'm just a little bit pissed because I paid for this DLC on a game I was waiting for since the first game out. Heaven forbid I should be able to play it.

I have Mafia 2 for the PS3 and I got Jimmy's vendetta on the day of release (When the game itself was released). I know for the PS3 I've manually updated games but I'm not 100% sure for 360 because I don't have a live account.

why do all ps3 owners not get the difference between jimmy's betrayal and jimmy's vendetta, this is a new thing, and it costs 800ms points and 9.99 on the psm

$10 DLC 2 weeks after the game releases? Now I'm really regretting buying the collector's edition on Steam... Oh my god. It was a great game, but all the things they cut out to make into DLC... This is unbelievable, I was hoping it would be free after all the uproar on the Mafia II official forums.

As for your update, I'm not sure. Try restarting the 360.

Nah, that doesn't work. seems either the title update has just been delayed. Or possibly for the worse there is a problem with people who have already downloaded the content meaning the patch is being read as older content...

If that makes any sense.

Yeah the game was a lot of fun but with that ending, it's very obvious they're going to try and milk the DLC cow. As for the OP's problem... not sure.

It's not actually the cut-content (despite what that... insane forum would have you believe).

Yes, the DLC consists mostly of side-mission style objectives, but they aren't the side-missions cut from (some were integrated into the main plot) the game.
