MAG - huge update next week

Mag is going to get a huge update next week with many new things added to the game. This new beta version will be avalible to all exsiting Mag owners.

This beta update will feature:

Clan deploy feature - you can make a game for up to 128 clan members.
New skill trees - brand new skill tree's for all classes
Credit points - Use your experience in battle to purchase new gear.
Playstation move support - Use playstation move with Mag
New game mode (Escalation) - a sneak peak of a new dlc mode called Escalation which pits up to 96 players from all three pmc's (raven, sever, valor) in one huge epic battle. It will be free to play for a while until the gamemode becomes DLC.

This is great news for Mag players and i think it's as good time as ever for playstation 3 owners to get into Mag.

Oooooooh sounds interesting, I just got my PS3 3 weeks ago and this might seem like another fun FPS to try out.

I was thinking of playing it, but now i'm worried everyone will be too beastly for me to compete with. Is it newbie-friendly enough to join this late in the game?

No to be honest it isn't very newb friendly but you do get better over time. Its best to start on the suppression mode (so you get familar to the game) until you get to something more advance like domination (which are huge scale battles with over 200 players that last up to 30 minutes at a time). That really shouldn't detear your from a great online experience though. The game has a great sense of achievement and teamwork which is very much unlike many online fps's out there.

I wish I had a PS3, solely for this game. I probably would've been convinced by the trailers and info alone, but it's made by the same devs as RECOIL. Assuming they haven't got worse over the course of 15 years, this game presumably kicks ass more than anything except maybe TF2 and Morrowind.

no its still pretty much alive, you don't have to wait that long for domination games, around fifteen minutes at the most so it's all good.

But this looks good. Very, very good

that would be interdiction (which has little to no players playing it) and aquisition (which has a couple of players but are no way near as popular as the other modes). Raven strangely always seem to have the upper hand on aquisition for some odd reason.

Well this early preview of the game mode might make people buy the dlc. This would be the first mode you will see all three pmc's fighting! you seriously can't go wrong with that.
