We?re extremely excited to announce that starting tomorrow, December 21, MAG will be available in its entirety as a full game download on the PlayStation Store.

Priced identically to its boxed ?Greatest Hits? counterpart, the downloadable version of MAG (4.7 GB) will run you a mere $29.99 (US) and come complete with all the bells and whistles found in our patches up to v2.10.

To celebrate its release, PlayStation Plus users can try MAG out for free with an exclusive full game trial! Members can play the game and any of its original modes at no charge for as long as their membership lasts, with their only limitation being a level 8 character cap. Members will continue to earn experience as long as they play the game, allowing them to automatically receive credit for time played once they?ve purchased the full product.

Yes it is the game with the large Multiplayer.
Well its actually the same price in the PSN store as it is in Stores.

Very cool indeed. A lot like Steam's free weekends, where you download games for X amount of days and try it out. Nice to see consoles are doing it.

But MAG? Ewww, bad waste of money it was.

If there are other games on the platform that interest you, go ahead. I would not recommend getting a PS3 on the strength of this game alone however. It is entertaining at times but is also deeply flawed. It isn't broken or buggy flawed, it just has some serious issues at the conceptual level. As an example, the game offers better rewards for doing literally anything that generates points other than shooting people. In one game, I spent the entire time repairing things and generated 3x more points than another guy on my squad who had valiantly slaughtered the enemy time and again (50 kills and 4 deaths).

That said, if you already have a PS3 the game is certainly worth getting.

Were it left to me I would have played as Valor. Because my friends all picked SVER, my allegiance lies with them. I did briefly try playing with Raven but I found that Raven tends to do poorly far more often than not.

And, if my time with the game is any indication, SVER is a murder factor. According to my stats, I have had 28 major victories but only 4 major defeats. Given the scope of the game, I'm quite certain that this is not due to my own skill or action in any significant measure.

Yeah, it may not hold the PS3 up all the way but its a good game.

People actually play that game. I would be interested, if it was on PC. And I own a PS3.
