Ok so i saw the game on steam and its got me interested in the ccg again, i haven't played since mirrodin/fifth dawn and i'm wondering have the rules changed much and what are the new sets like?

Too much too post here. There has been a major rules overhaul however. Some people like it, some think Magic is "RUINED FOREVER".

I suggest looking everything up on the official website.

I hadn't played since before Ice Age and didn't find the rules to be significantly different, though they had renamed some abilities and obviously added new stuff. The game on Steam would probably serve as a great intro to the newer stuff though, for barely more than the cost of a starter deck :p

Ah excellent, sounds like a plan then. And in my town the cost of a starter deck is actually more than the game so it makes sense all round.
