Anyone play??

I've been playing since 8th came out. Aah all those lunchtimes spent in the library playing against my friends. I took a break for a bit mainly cos I didnt have a lot of money but when I started to play DnD I found that a lot of the guys there played so I started again.

I have 4 decks now

White Life/Angels - Full of life gain cards and some pretty rad angels, slow to start but pretty hard to beat once I get going. Unfortunetly everyone knows this so in multiplayer games I get ganged up on pretty hard XD

White Kithkins - Deck I used for the release torni I was in. Nothing fancy just a lot of smegs that build up over awhile

Black Blue White Esper - Made this one on thursday when I got a bunch of torni packs, still working it out but its won a game or two

Green Red White Naya - Made this one yesterday and I havnt tested it yet.. Looking forward to it.

So does anyone else play? If you dont then you wont know what I just said ><

Played back in later days of 7th.

Used a triple colour deck red, white and green. Had a lot of nasty ticks to pull out with that deck.

Never personally got into trading card games. The only one I ever really played was Pokemon (Lame, I know). Then there was the whole Yu-Gi-Oh craze which I thought was completely stupid.

They just seem difficult to get into if you weren't involved from the beginning and have no idea what the overall story/concept it.

I got a white deck I just built. Standard tourney legal. And there's the 120/37 with flying, vigilance, 5X lifelink, and protection from converted mana cost 3 or greater. Can't guard against it or unmake it. And I get 600 life when it attacks.

i do enjoy Magic the gathering,
-
Black and White Hybrid: Using the leige to kill off creatures. Summon 7/7 life link for 3 mana (aswell kills three opposing creatures).
-
Red white: Mass in creatures with double strike and life link xP
- elfs...just horridibly cheap (3-5 turn win or...im disappointed..)
- Red black storm, storm with mana cards from red and black and hit with a storm socery spell...xP (possible first turn win...but nto likely...still needs work)

Straight red deck, sommons big creatures all costing about 5-8

Green blue hybird, creatures have power according to green mana symbols of all creatures on feild, sommon lots, power increases xP. Also got untap during opposing players upkeep and lands dont untap cards.

Yeah then someome usues a borris fury shield and your dead,
Personally i have never been a fan of really big creatures, take to long to summon and its too easy to have them turned against you.
Considering with one blue mana you can turn that creature to the persons hand, one white the attacking creature will be removed from game. It just makes it more worth while to sommon multiple creatures with support abilities. Kithkan, elfes, slivers (slow but effective). Thats the way to go.

I don't rely on that card. It's funny if it gets out and nobody can do anything about it, but I rely more on Exalted's and small lifelinks.

In fact my Blue deck doesn't have anything with more that 6 power. It's just that the 6 power has unblockable/lifelink and the 5 power has unblockable/lifelink and the 3 2 powers have unblockable and the 4 power has unblockable and "whenever this creature deals damage to an opponent, you draw a card and that opponent discards a card" and the 2 power that gives all my other creatures apart from those above unblockable.

White-Black Evershrike...

Use Oona's Prowler to discard Evershrike, and have a turn 4 attacking 7/7 flier by slapping on an edge of the divinity or unholy strength in their end of turn phase. Happens almost every game and kicks gigantic fistfuls of ass when it does.

Man, do i love that game. And man do i love my deck.

I have a bunch of others but nothing worth mentioning.

------

Im skipping Alara because of the utter fail it is plagued with and taking a break.

A friend used to use a sweet Goblin Charbelcher / Mana Severance combo in free play. It was fun watching the countdown to doom.

I quit during Odyssey block. The game just lost its flair for me. It felt like they kept just rehashing things and when they did introduce new mechanics, they just felt kinda tacked on. I knew M:TG was truly dead for me when I heard some of the newer generation of players talk about how 'overpowered dual lands were.'

Also, while this doesn't actually have much to do with the gameplay itself, I didn't care much for the new setting. The characters and storyline just didn't engage me. I own all of the major books for the storyline starting all the way with how Yawgmoth became what he was in the storyline all the way to Apocalypse, and while they are hardly high-brow fantasy reading, I did enjoy the storyline quite a bit. The Odyssey book however, failed to grab me the same way as when I read the first one.

I played way back in the Mirrodin Block. Then I stopped cuz I don't have cash. But more importantly, I stopped because once I got my Broodstar Affinity deck in working order (almost tourney-worthy, can beat Ravagers and Green Anti-Artifact decks) after much playtesting, DCI suddenly decided to ban Artifact Lands from Standard, making my whole deck useless.

Decks I loved (mostly from my enemies)
1. MBC (Mono Black Control) - way back, it used Death Cloud and Greater Harvester. It's probably more powerful now because of Cranial Extraction and Extirpate.

2. U/G Madness - use the Wild Mongrel to get large creatures out for less.

3. Reanimator - uses Ambassador Lacquatus and World Gorger Dragon with Animate dead to produce infinite mana and blast the opponent's library to oblivion.

I'm pretty sure there's many more.

Yeah, I used to play.

I remember one of my friends used to bring his Sliver deck to school, and Slivers are very... interdependent.

Get 3 or more on the field, and you're unstoppable.

Hence, we banned him from using that deck.

BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

And i run Pull from Eternity in case some smart-jack unmakes it. But what really frustrates people is the 12 removal spells, 8 of which are creatures.

I suck terribly at it, but I have a green deck that puts out huge amounts of big trampling creature's and a black zombie deck, always fun to play.

What looks wrong with Alara? I havn't played since Ravnica block, but am honestly considering going back into it with Alara.
