I'm just curious if I'm insane.

I find myself speaking in different accents throughout the day, sometimes without prompting, although it helps. Or, even stranger, thinking in accents. For example, I once went on a Zero Punctuation binge, and now whenever I review something I think about it in a hyperactive Australian voice.

At any rate, does anyone else do this?

EDIT: Damned mind's addled. Not Australian, you know what I mean heh

I did that when I was a kid.

I read the CLUE series which I'm positive is set in England, so after hearing English voices in my head, it carried to my mouth. This also works with BBC marathons of Father Ted, Absolutely Fabulous, Charlie Brooker, Benny Hill, League of Gentlemen, Monty Python, & Blackadder.

Watched Gone with the Wind for like 8 hours; southern accent abound.

I think it's common in people who think their native accent is boring, people who find foreign accents sexy.

Every time I watch Monty Python, I'm stuck in John Cleese mode for a week.

Yeah. I live in the deep south, so whenever I get excited or hyper I start blurting out everything in a southern drawl. I can usually keep it under control but I can't help it if I'm energetic enough.

I only speak or think in other accents when the mood strikes me.

Once on Left 4 Dead, I talked in a Russian accent and acted as if I lived in the old communistic Soviet Union.

"I am the only Russian who owns a microphone" always hit a laugh.

I phase in and out of an British accent, and I really don't realize it most of the time. It really confuses people when I speak like that when I first meet them. I've had a person go a month thinking that I was a British guy who was just putting on a (normal) Canadian accent to fit in.

After playing Final Fantasy 13 a bit too much I've started accidentally putting on an Aussie accent even worse than the one Fang's voice actor puts on.

Yeh it wasn't that amazing.

OT: I have started to do a very poor south African accent and always I love doing the Irish accent for no reason, they sound so sweet.
But a Ringo Star impression is always fun.

I don't phase completely in and out of accents, but my normal accent is quite weak. So when I spend loads of time with an american accent or go to somewhere in the north of England for several days (such as Liverpool) my accent swings a little in that direction.

I remember when my British friend (from the South of England) came over to Portugal and met my American-sounding friend. She claimed that she was "accidentally slipping into the accent" but the thing is that she would literally just blurt out a few random words in a full US accent that sounded really fake... and that when this US-sounding friend of mine talks to me, her accent fades to nearly nothing, so my British friend just sounded like she was doing a bad, over-the-top parody of her.

Talking in accents on certain occasions makes things more fun. Fact.

I do find myself randomly bursting into accent (depends on who I'm with as to how likely I am to do it). I also start thinking/talking in the accents of characters if I've been watching a particular show or playing a particular game for a long period of time.

All the damn time. I have what I consider to be the most neutral accent on the planet (I'm Canadian and I live in Vancouver where the strong "Canadian accent" is quite uncommon) so I like talking with crazy accents to spice up conversation. It's especially noticeable when I play video games. I know I'm immersed when I'm constantly talking to myself in a game appropriate accent. You don't want to watch me play Assassin's Creed 2. Ever.

I'm British, and have been brought up in the West Country, in the same town for my whole life. For some reason, people have been convinced I'm American, Irish and Australian. I don't even do it on purpose, so I find it awfully perplexing.

I'm born and brought up in Birmingham (UK), but only sound like a Brummie when I'm on the phone to my parents- ONLY when I'm on the phone, even though I'm still living in Birmingham. I've also been mistaken for South African, American and Australian.

I've always been one for accents; it's really difficult for me NOT to start emulating the accents of people. I turned this to my advantage though and started doing voice acting :)

I used to hang out with a bunch of British people and now I can't seem to lose the accent I picked up.
I sound a bit too "posh" for my liking but oh wel...

I guess I will pick up something else eventually.
