Major Freezing on the PS3 Browser lately anyone?

So my browser has been freezing on me a lot lately, like majorly! Every few minutes, no matter what site I'm on the whole thing freezes and I have to hard reset the whole system. It used to freeze now and then, and it's no big deal but over the last month it's gotten to the point where I'm resetting evey time I use the browser. But I don't get it! I haven't downloaded update 2.80 yet but i thought I'd ask if anyone else had this problem and if the update fixed it or made it worse. An advanced thank you for any replies!

nothing like this has happened to me yet, in fact my browser and PSN connections seem to be better then normal as of late

lol, thanks for rubbing it in. But was it bad before you updated to 2.80?

It's probably because you haven't downloaded 2.80 yet. This coming from someone who doesn't play on the PS3 but that just seems most logical.

I would agree, but this has been going on for a long time, i mean months. It's just gotten really bad in the last month and I can't think why. I clear my cache, cookies and history now and then.

It happens to me when I attempt to overload it with commands. For example, if I accidentally click on something and then instinctually tell it to go back to the previous page to cancel the command a-la most browsers ever.

It also happens when I attempt to go back when something is loading.

It's been a while since I've used the internet browser, but it was only slow, it didn't freeze.

I have had this problem as well, and had some strange router issues following 2.80

It's the reason I suspected that the PS3/Hulu issue might be related to Sony's browser update rather than intentional blockage by Hulu.

Of course, I got lambasted for that on another thread, having the audacity to infer that the possible problem might be generated from the PS3 rather than some evil Microsoft/Hulu conspiracy against the PS3...

That happened to me too, and I have no idea how or why. I changed every setting, changed from wireless to wired, etc. The only thing that helped a little bit was when I changed my IP from dynamic to static, but I still had an occassional issue.

It wasn't fixed until I moved to a different state. I hope that doesn't discourage you

only when i bring up a new tab on the escapist ... doesn't freeze every 2 mins but deffo at least 3 times in 2 hours

I'm going to say it's an issue with your router/gateway

I don't think it's the update problem because if its a major update. You can't go on Playstation Network unless you update it and the update is the ability to restart your PS3!

I actually can go on the Playstation Network before updates. Don't know why, but my PS never tells me automatically when an update is out, I always have to keep my ear to the ground for it and I'm never forced to download it. Seems to have gotten slightly better but I'm also trying not to have too many data intensive pages tabs up at once, e.g. three youtube vids, the escapist and IGN, lol
