We got the EU limited edition bundle, It was exclusive to EB games and their pre-order stock is already sold out.pearcinator said:I wonder if Australia gets a cool bundle. I don't own a 3DS but I am strongly considering getting one for when Majoras Mask comes out as it is my favourite game of all time.
You've met with a terrible fate haven't you?FPLOON said:50 bones?! I could totally buy that!
*finds out it's sold out*
...Fuck! If only I knew how the play the Song of Time!
They should cancel the multiple orders and say "One per customer per household."Neronium said:And it's all sold out thanks to fucking scalpers. Apparently people are bragging how they preordered 2-6 of these editions. Isn't that nice, those who work or can't check the internet a lot get screwed over. It's like the limited edition PS4 for the 20th Anniversary of Playstation again. Why did they not limit this to being one per customer at places like GameStop I'll never know.
Edit: Hey guys, GameStop just "suddenly" managed to build together a new bundle, The Ultimate Limited Edition. And here's the kicker, after taxes and everything it turns to being close to double the price of the original Limited Edition. You know, it's times like this that make me remember why I stopped shopping at GameStop. I hope Nintendo of America sees this, because this is honestly rather sad, almost as much as that Xenoblade Chronicles and Metroid Prime Trilogy reprint they tried pulling off as being people selling them back to GameStop.
Here's the Ultimate Limited Edition
Edit 2: And the Ultimate Limited Edition is now sold out it seems. This means that the only remaining place that will have this bundle is Fry's Electronics, which hasn't gone online as of this time.
Yeah that is definitely the most bullshit thing to happen by far, especially if you were in the middle of a transaction. Honestly if Nintendo were smart, they'd release the Majora's Mask figure in large quantities to screw over the scalpers, but we all know that's not gonna happen. They should at least come out and say something about this, because otherwise it makes it look like they don't give two shits, which is a possibility too.RaikuFA said:They should cancel the multiple orders and say "One per customer per household."
Fuck, Gamestop cancelled mine at the store as I was doing the transaction. It was on the credit card machine and everything. Fuck scalpers and fuck nintendo for treating their products like this.
I really hoped these retards learned their lesson from the Wii fiasco. Guess not.
It's times like this that it makes sense that Nintendo of Japan does this. And yeah, the limit probably wouldn't have stopped all the scalpers, but it definitely wouldn't have gotten this bad that's for sure.weirdee said:I kinda doubt that a buy limit would have realistically stopped scalping, but it might have been worth a shot. This is why Nintendo Japan does a lottery style selection for their limited edition stuff.
I used to love SlickDeals, but it's honestly become a cancerous den of vultures. It used to be about sharing deals with one another now it just has people prowling around and gutting the best deals to make a profit from other members. And the sad part is that people on the site swing it around like a badge of honor when they buyout an item. And the worst part is that when hard to find items are in stock somewhere they downvote the post so it isn't seen because they're protecting their inflated prices.Neronium said:I love how they didn't even wait a day to start putting this bundle together. Apparently people were calling GameStop about preordering and they said that people would have to wait till tomorrow, and now we see why. Even better, apparently scalpers on SlickDeals are saying that GameStop will allow you to return the guide...giving GameStop more profit. So no, this isn't safe from scalpers still. >.>Hairless Mammoth said:All they did was jam the "collector's edition" strategy guide in with the original limited edition, inflating the price. I could 100% MM in my sleep, so I don't need, not want, a guide. Thanks, Gamestop, for saving some copies from the scalpers, just to do it yourself.
Hell, on SlickDeals there are people bragging how they have between 3 to 10 copies of the limited edition, and are prowling Fry's Electronics for when it goes live there. So yeah, any person who legitimately wanted that statue and the game get screwed over again by scalpers. I hope Nintendo sees what GameStop is doing and decides to go to different stores in the future because it's just sad to see this.
I'm still waiting for the day you start to see the Mario amiibos hit the bargain bin, I've been on a hunt for amiibos with pretty good success and I cannot tell you the absurd overstocking of the main Nintendo cast is. Seriously damn near every store is pretty much lined with Mario and Kirby. If you thought Marth, WiiFit, and Villager was a debacle wait until release day hits for Rosalina and Meta Knight. Rosalina got bought out pretty much instantly, I saw some people posting screenshots of their email with 15-20 preorder confirmations. And there were some rumors of people hearing that store employees were buying/planning to buy out stock before it hit the shelves. Some of these stores really have no idea how to handle this stuff and that's going to be an even bigger mess.karloss01 said:You know, I'm rather disappointed it isn't a limited edition Amiibo as well. though that would probably add more fuel to the raging fire the lack of communication and supply Nintendo has caused with their Amiibos
This. Seriously. Blows my goddamn mind how a company that has been in business this long still doesn't fucking learn.RaikuFA said:Fuck scalpers and fuck nintendo for treating their products like this.

Lucky. I'm waiting for the preorders to open up so then I can get one for myself. Honestly, this is who situation, along with how Amiibo's have been handled, really does not inspire confidence from Nintendo of America to me. And the fact that apparently this is a complete non-issue in Japan and only a minor one in Europe shows that Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of Japan are at least competent enough to prevent something like this.Rednog said:Edit: Talked to a Best Buy rep on the phone to see if I could somehow still get one, they said they are cancelling order en mass because of all the people trying to buy more than 1, said to keep refreshing as the preorder stock is slowly being refilled. Managed to snag one. Also a great deal because GCU cost is $10 off.
Yeah, I've been dissapointed by NoA in the past year. The way they handled the platinum reward this year, the way they handled the Smash demo, then the amiibos and now this.Neronium said:Lucky.
