The Holodeck.

Right now. It is basically the kinect with force feedback, so we can do it... Somehow...

Probably never. The forcefield is more of a pipe dream then people realize. Currently it doesn't look promising for the Star Trek sci-fi forcefield to be a reality. Seeing how the holodeck as seen in the show is the product of holograms and forcefields, you seem to be out of luck on this one.

Virtual reality however might be possible, and the more we learn about how the brain works the closer to reality it might become.

I think we need to pour everything the US has into more research of the aging process. We have had some very significant breakthroughs in animal testing recently, and I think it would a great way to flip the rest of the world the bird if we figured out how to basically halt the aging process and all lived for several centuries, while the rest of the world tried desperately to figure out how we did it. We could just say to each new generation "Ha, there you where thinking you where so superior, now who only gets to live for 70 or so years. You that's who."

And with America stopping the financing of space travel the chance of intergalactic space travel is very slim anytime soon.

At this stage, making the gap between "We went to the moon five times over 40 years ago" to "We are travelling to another galaxy" is like comparing "I have taken my first step" and "I have circumnavigated the globe by the energy of my eyelashes alone" when you're the size of a bug.
It's not exactly all that simple to up-and-do an adventure of that scale, expense in terms of money aside.

I hate to be all logical and shizz, but stable cold fusion would overnight solve so many problems.

Assuming it was implemented overnight, as opposed to being argued in political and legal realms in terms of profit, patents, distribution rights, and the power it would grant sovereign states with the capability of nigh-limitless cheap energy.

OT: A tunnel to thhe moon.

Sorry, the only way to get a "space elevator" is to have the space station (or moon) in a geosyncronus orbit (always above the same spot on the earth). Since the moon is not in one of these orbits, a direct link is impossible.

I know its hard to do and perhaps a 100 years from now we still wouldnt have done it. However space travel is important it helps us understand the universe and check the bounderies of our galaxy. But China/India will perhaps pass America in space travel its time for another superpower to take the next step. (Aka Mars)

Exploration, maybe. But habitation and consequent colonization? No.
Just in terms of our local little third rock from the sun, the surface of Mars makes Antarctica look like Vermont in the summer, in terms of temperature and humidity. If we aren't making ready use of Antarctica, the landmass larger than United States and Mexico combined, then what use would anyone have with Mars, let alone an extrasolar planet or moon?

Honestly, I'm holding out for the space elevator. The amount of money that it will save on shuttle launches and the like will make it much more feasible to send materials into space, and who knows? Maybe we'll have a space hotel up there soon.

We already know the science behind controlling machinery with one's neural impulses, and... well, making things stick to other things. The ball is now firmly in the engineers' court, and believe me, they are working on it. If you asked a scientist for a spiderman suit, they'd show you the completed research and tell you to go away.

In fact, half of these seem to be engineering suggestions.

My suggestion to science would be to tell the military to [expletive] off and find some other way to fund itself, because research is basically just being skewed to provide better ways of killing people, rather than actually learning about the universe. Hell, I'm surprised CERN hasn't already been converted into a bullet-shaped, targetable particle accelerator.
