So I don't know how many Magic the Gathering players we have (I've seen some threads on the subject), but I've read about Rise of the Eldrazi. Some of the new powers look cool. Basically I wanna know what kind of powers you wanna see in MTG.

I wouldn't mind seeing a reverse trample effect where say a 7/7 creature (with reverse trample) blocks a 4/2. It would do 5 damage to the 4/2 controller.

Also a tunnel effect, but here's the kicker, flying can't block tunnelers and tunnelers can't block flying (tunnelers can block other tunnelers).

Unless i'm mistaken, the tunnel skill already exists in the old portal expansions, it's called horsemanship.

You are correct sir, I had no idea about it.

I sometimes wish they'd bring back the older abilities (flashback, madness, the thorn elemental power that hasn't been given a name, phasing).

Since they unbanned the portal expansions in constructed formats, horsemanship is a pretty easy way of getting unblockable, cause no-one uses it.
Shadow is another way for teh same reasons, but then you cannot block either, and there are more shadow creatures out there than horsemanship creatures.

A lot of them came back in the time spiral block. And they do revisit them from time to time, take cycling for instance, which was in the onslaugth block, but is was originally in the urza's block as far as i remember.

I couldn't do it. Not only am I a hapless noob who barely knows the difference between Haste and Vigilance, almost everything I can think of probably has probably already been done. :/

Fuck yes, Thorn Elemental. That card is not only what broke my MTG virginity, but also one of the reasons why I always use some sort of forest deck.

As for powers: Unless they already have it, I'd like to see cards that ignore Resurrection. Just straight up destroy those bastards.

I first got into Magic around the seventh series. First legend I got was Nantuko, Thriss Primus. I have three thorny elemental's, gave them to my girlfriends little brother. He's making a power green deck.

Well, it already exists, but I really don't think it's given enough attention: Gaining +X/+X when blocked. Especially in the case of Rabid Elephant, a 3/4 who gains +2/+2 for each creature blocking it, as well as, I believe, having trample.

Plus, there's a card called Seton's Desire that gives a creature +2/+2 and, when you have threshold, all creatures able to block the enchanted creature must do so.
