I consider myself a maker. Instead of a dining table I have a workbench with my favorite soldering iron, a 3-D printer, and plenty of components for everything. More importantly I don't just make to create I make out of necessity. Have you got any pics/schematics/stories of things you or others have built that really pump you up. I've got quite a backlog so I'm just keeping it simple with one example that falls into my realm as an expert in... things that go boom.

My mom has had multiple knee replacements (bad surgeon), so she needs to sit with her feet up most of the time. My dad and I took her reclining chair and made a base for it so it's taller and easier for her to get in and out of, and my uncle created a rolling, angled laptop table to fit over her chair (and raises up and down) so she can easily do things.

... That's about it for improvements, really. Other than us making most of my parents house accessable for her.

I go to work where I make money... then I turn that into things! :p

Sorry... I am completly rubbish with my hands... and that was the only thing I could contribute! :S

I am a good ideas man though... I have managed to fix many a DIY problem, by telling someone else how to do it! :S
