I just came across this article [http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/53976] on Shacknews according to the article ID's John Carmack revealed that Rage won't look as good on the 360 because of the compression required to fit the game onto two DVD's. Furthermore the reason they are going with two DVD's rather than three is related to royalty fees which would make a third DVD economically unjustifiable. If this is indeed the case (I can't confirm from the article because there does not seem to be a link to what he actually said.) I cannot help but be reminded of UTIII and the issue of mods on the 360. I also wonder what kinds of issues other developers have run into with this console when it comes to fitting content onto the discs that they do not talk about, because I seriously doubt that ID is the only company to have issues fitting game assets onto the 360 discs.
I am also left wondering why the hell Carmack even said that (If in fact he did.) wouldn't it be better to just let the 360 version of the game quietly die like the Saints Row team did for the first game?
