Setting: So at one point in the world it was the future (you know laser guns, robots, etc.), but then society was destroyed by a mysterious event unrecorded by history. Society has reformed to the point where we again have a basic medieval high fantasy society with knights and magic and all that good stuff. But eventually we started digging up old technology, which is extremely valuable. So for the most part your characters will be the same warrior/rouge/cleric/wizard set up you've come to be used to, though as you progress you might find your warrior using a shotgun, or your Mage deploying robots.

Gameplay is mostly based on DnD with the addition of the Turn Interrupt system.

Interrupt Turn system
If the baddies attempt an action which directly affects a player (ex. Goblin attacks warrior), the player can respond.
All abilities, excluding basic no name attacks, have time scores.
So lets say the goblin uses ?jump hack?. This lets the goblin jump forward 2 squares at the warrior, and then attack the warrior for 9 damage.
The ability has 3 parts, the jump, the attack, and the return to its original square. These are all fairly basic actions, so Jump Hack has a time score of 3.
The DM puts it into motion by telling everyone what the goblin does. The player controlling the warrior has the ability ?Shield stun?. Shield stun attacks a character for 6 damage and stuns them for one turn. This has only 1 action, which is swinging a shield, so its time score is 1.
DM announces that Goblin uses Jump Hack on warrior, instantly making the goblin begin the first action, the jump.
At this point, the player controlling the warrior activates ?Shield Stun? which has a time of 1. It takes 1 time for the warrior to notice the goblin and decide to use shield stun. So the goblin completes the jump in the same time frame that the warrior notices and decides to use shield stun.
They each move into their second action. For the goblin, it is the stab. For the warrior, it is the shield swing.
Now the warrior rolls the six sided die. If it comes up 1 than the Shield Stun misses the goblin entirely, letting him attack the warrior for the full 9 damage.
If it comes up 2 or 3 than the warrior barely connects with the goblin. The goblin has enough momentum to get his arm through though, and the warrior takes 6 damage. But the goblin was still affected by the shield, so it takes 2 damage and is dizzy for one turn. The goblin returns to its original space.
If it comes up 4 or 5 the warrior hits the goblin, but just a second too late. The goblin is smashed in the face taking 4 damage and barely manages to slip its knife past the shield, grazing the warrior for 3 damage. The goblin is dizzy for one turn, and doesn?t return to its space.
If it comes up 6 than the warrior achieves a direct hit on the goblin! The goblin takes the full 6 damage, and is stunned for one turn not returning to its space, while the warrior takes no damage.

So any feedback? Sound too complex? Any other questions? Does it sound at all like something you'd like to play?
